We've eaten there a couple of times. Theres some things they do excellent, some ok and one thing they could improve upon (in my opinion).
We got the combo platter which for $25 doesnt sound cheap until you get it and realize it could easily feed 3 people. We got smoked chicken, smoked pork, smoked beef, pork spare ribs, rice and beans, and mac and cheese. We also got an order of onion rings.
Smoked chicken was by far the best meat. It was fantastic. Smoked pork was also very good, nice flavor and not too lean. Next best were the spare ribs which were ok (not a ton of meat and their sauce isnt my jam). The smoked beef is ok, good flavor but a bit dry (definitely not brisket). Mac and cheese is very good as were the rice and beans. Onion rings were hand battered, were a huge portion and served piping hot.
The one thing I was not a fan of is their bbq sauces (normal or spicy). Not inedible but not great.
Service was excellent (super friendly) and the restaurant was very clean.
Definitely recommend.

Stopped by here last night. Had moved out of town years ago and used to love coming here to eat. They had (and still do) have the best cheese curds. They are so light a fluffy. And I of course had to get a pork sandwich, the meat was so tender and tasty. The woman who took my order and brought my food out was the owner I believe, she was so friendly and helpful. Thanks for the great dinner. Wish I would have taken some pictures, but I was so focused on eating that I forgot.

Today my employer had Fat Jacks cater lunch for approximately 60 employees, it was simply fantastic. The food was absolutely delicious; chicken, pork and beef with sides of potato salad, a pasta sald and baked beans. The staff were extremely attentive and had no difficulty in keeping up. To highly recommend Fat Jacks feels inadequate

Driving through the area on a trip back home from vacation. Found this place on Google Maps while searching for a meal, and decided to try it. Most of the family got the Smoked Chicken meals, and we all enjoyed it. Definitely recommend eating here

I've been dining at Fat Jack's for over 25 years. I enjoy the food there more than anywhere else in the Madison Wisconsin area. I absolutely love the fish fry, and all barbecue options are stellar. The flavors/quantity/price ratio cannot be beat, regardless of where else you go. I love the simple throw-back atmosphere. Smiles abound. Service is great. Owners are wonderful people if you get a chance to meet them. It's the kind of place you hope NEVER goes away. Dreamer as I may be.

Again, Fat Jack's catering knocks it out of the park with their whole smoked chicken. Like we've done many times through the years, we decided to serve Fat Jack's smoked chicken for our daughter's graduation party. On graduation day, we picked up 17 chickens and were greeted by the same friendly staff. Always a pleasant experience. The smoked chicken was as consistent as always and incredibly delicious. There was plenty of their tasty hot and mild bbq sauce included. I would highly recommend ordering for your next party, your guests will be grateful that you did. Enjoy. Cheers!
