Delicious ice cream with an excellent location. Love the lake views and all the parks. Staff is very nice. Also love that it is a local business instead of a chain. You can tell the owner takes pride in his shop.

A local favorite for decades! Serving both Babcock Hall and Sassy Cow ice cream. Can't beat the location across from the beach and playground.

First time visit and I am not disappointed. An iconic location of the history of Madison wi. The ice cream is delicious. Bring cash. The don’t accept cards.

Way too expensive for what you get.

Stopped for an ice cream cone while riding the lake loop. The service (unlike their great ice cream) cannot be topped!!

My girlfriend and I stopped in for lunch while on a bike ride. We had a club sandwich and an ice cream cone and we both loved it!

Very welcoming place, in the perfect location. Employees are very friendly and outgoing, always making sure you’re greeted at arrival and welcoming you in. The ice cream, the shakes, the cheese burgers, everything in that shop is very delicious. The shop gives off antique old-fashion vibes which suits the place very well. Whether you’re swimming in the beach right across the street or taking a bike ride around the lake, it is safe to say this shop will fulfill your sweet tooth, or your hungry belly. Not to mention if you’re fishing across the street, you can stop by for some bait to catch some fish. Very friendly owner as well, always striving to do his best. Employees look like they’re trying their very best all of the time, very hardworking employees. Definitely a hidden gem here in Monona.

Vegetarian options: Veggie burger

Dietary restrictions: Gluten free cones.

Parking: Lots of parking spots right across the street, also right in front of the shop as well.

Kid-friendliness: Junior scoops here.

A fun local place to grab ice cream. They get their ice cream from the UW creamery so it’s pretty good. The place has a very homey feel. Across the street is a park with a lot of additional outdoor seating.

Everything was fine for a little sandwich shop except for the air freshener in the bathroom. It was very intense for such a small space and extremely difficult for someone with chemical sensitivity to use in a time of need.
