Worth every mile, so the TV commercials say and it's true! The ribs are tender, smoky, lean and overall delicious. The sweet, rich BBQ sauce is a perfect partner, so good. Mustard sauce is also available for those who prefer it. The baked beans are very good and coleslaw, cold, crisp with a tangy creamy dressing, two sides that deserve mention alongside the ribs. You order and pay at the counter inside the entrance and within minutes of sitting down the food arrives, piping hot. Self seating is available across multiple dining rooms, the bar and offer booths, small and large, clean tables. Staff regularly check with patrons to ensure all needs are met. This is a no-frills restaurant with plenty of character and great service, worth the trip.

First off, when you enter you need to order and pay for your order and they will bring it out to you when it is ready. For us, our 2 meals were ready in 10 minutes. I had the ribs and brisket combo. For sides I went with with slaw and BBQ beans. My wife had the ribs and shrimp. Everything is excellent. The ribs are smoked to perfection with a nice bark. The ribs are served without sauce but the table has both a tomato based sauce and a mustard based sauce. The tomato based sauce is very good. I was going to buy some on the way out but there was a line forming.
I highly recommend J&J BBQ.

I'm not a huge bbq fan but I was hands down so impressed that I would drive hours just to eat there again!!!!
We had the brisket sandwich with beans, fries, and onion rings. All were delicious and the sauces first rate. J & J ranks with the best BBq we’ve had. We’re going to eat there again when we travel through the area.

We recently had the ribs at J & J BBQ, and they were fantastic! Service was outstanding; they are friendly folks, who truly care about the quality of the food they are serving. Most of the menu is gluten free as well, so if you have celiac, they will take good care of your gluten free needs.

Discovered J&J’s catered in to a funeral Celebration of Life enjoyed the catering in food .. Decided to travel to the Restaurant & Bar in Nelson today Traveled from Chippewa Falls to eat in-house
The paper menu prices I was handed were not the same price as on the order board behind the order counter. . so I was made to study the unfamiliar order board over the counter w/ people waiting to pay their bills from sit down restaurant and pressured to make a quick decision without being able to explore different options
out of broasted Chicken to go Asked to substitute smoked chicken would not do ..
two dinners were $70.00
2 fountain sodas
1/2 rack w/ brisket 2 small sides
Brisket Handful of fries small cup of Mac n Cheese one piece of Cornbread
Felt like we were being pushed out being 7pm and closing at 8pm we were handed to go containers packed up our dinners and left
Not impressed did not order extra to go orders
Went to Kwik Trip to pick up Broasted Chicken
Stopped at Wendy’s in Eau Claire to sit and enjoy a burger dinner
Major Let down on expectations and experience felt really rushed out and pushed to make a decision w/o being able to explore menu kinda pushy prices were raised substantially
Other People mentioned the experience was too expensive and the chicken and ribs can be too dry I ignored the warning And showed up today anyway
I really liked the Catering In house experience needs work ..
We will keep closer to home in the future Thanks You
