We recently visited Nelson Creamery on the Great River Road and it is a cute gem that is a must stop. The variety of cheeses sold was great. They also had a great selection of other treats to buy and a restaurant. Every cheese we purchased were delicious!
Awesome cheese curds
Nice place for cheese. Has expanded to a full deli and restaurant.
Always a favorite stop!
The selection of, well, everything is amazing! We stopped by every day of our trip & I tried a different flavor of ice cream each time! (With more to choose from each day!!) They offered wine- by taste testing, enjoying a glass, or the whole bottle or 2! ... A wide range of smoked items- meats & cheeses. A huge selection of cheeses in every size! ... Dried mushrooms. ... golly soooo much & uniquely diversified.
Ice cream. Many Cheese varieties
A friend recommended this place and dang, they were correct. The ice cream is divine.
Excellent food, cheese, meats and customer service is top notch.
Staff was quick, friendly, and got us taken care of quite quickly. I did get a cup with my double scoop, and it would have been nice to have an actual spoon with it. It was served with a wooden small stick like ice cream cups from the grocery store come with sometimes.
I was a tad disappointed that there weren’t napkins available but we made due.
The Strawberry Rhubarb ice was delicious! Will definitely be a return customer.
We stopped in for lunch. I had a Reuben which came on pumpernickel bread which I really didn't care for.

Great place. Amazing sandwiches. Very accommodating and lots of selection.
Delicious. Busy. Fairly priced.
Cool vibe. Great selection of cheeses, snack sticks, wine and other random condiments. Sandwiches are all great! You can’t go wrong with either a hot or cold sandwich! We try to stop every time we pass through. Worth a try if you haven’t been there before.
We drive an hour and a half in the Fall to visit Wabasha and then head over the bridge to Nelson's for ice cream. It's worth the drive and we never leave without some squeaky fresh cheese curds to take home. It's also a great place for lunch and finding specialty treats from other countries. My kids will forever remember our drives to Nelson's Creamery for ice cream. 🩷
Gotta stop and at least get ice cream. Very popular place. Might have to stand in line but they are fast.
