I had to come by on the Harley after seeing a large group of bikers stopped there a couple of weeks earlier. I was driving Hwy 40 for work. Great ride up from Eau Claire. Super friendly staff. I had a perfect bloody Mary and Burnt end brisket BBQ. I also had the pleasure of talking with Brett, the GM, who thanked me for coming in. I'll definitely be back!

Wonderful fish fry. Outdoor seating, which we love because we have a small dog in a stroller.
Love this place. Max's has a great vibe. I have only been here about six times because I live in MN, but everytime I went it has been fantastic. My favorite things on the menu is "The Willard" and the wings. The staff are fun and are not afriad to give it back to you if you have it coming. You should check it out if you haven't.

Max's might seem a little small initially, but there's more seating than you think! The food was fantastic, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and even though we showed up on bingo night (Monday, and it was VERY busy) we were still well taken care of as non bingo players! We will return
Parking: The parking is across the street, so it is easy to miss at first, but there is plenty of space!

We had rented a VRBO on the lake, not to far from here over the 4th of July. You have to park across the highway (local road). We stopped here for an early dinner (4:30pm) on a rainy evening. It wasn’t too busy. Service (Tori) was excellent! Surprising good choice for wine. We wanted to buy a sweatshirt or t-shirt to support the local economy but they only had XXL - so we bought one. I got the fried chicken sandwich and my husband had the slow roasted beef sandwich both with fries. My fried ck was very good, super hot. The cook forgot the pickled jalapeño, but Tori brought out a cup of them - My husband’s beef sandwich was good, au jus is a must.
Would go back if we are in that area again Worth a short drive.
