Stopped in for an Old Fashioned. The guy behind the bar (I think someone called him Chuck) was very put out when we asked for our 2 drinks. One had WAY too much simple syrup & was so sweet it was not drinkable. We didn't have food.
When my wife and I travel through Central Wisconsin, and have the time ,we avoid the Interstate and take the local state highways. That usually brings us to New Glarus. Being the "off season", the usual Swiss restaurants were not open early in the week. I had read about Puempedl's Tavern so we gave it a try. We weren't disappointed. The atmosphere is great.
