First time at this location. It’s a nice spot in downtown Oconomowoc. No street parking here, but there are a couple of public parking lots close by. A couple of small café tables out front. Big glass windows let in lots of natural light. Inside, there are tables for small groups along with a couch. It has a nice, casual feel.
Came with a friend early in the morning. Got a friendly greeting from the barista. Ordered a London Fog Tea Latte (a little lavender, a little vanilla, extra foam). They don’t serve drinks in mugs, so I had to settle for a paper cup (not my favorite). They have a large assortment of croissants to choose from — I picked the Blueberry Cream. They didn’t have other bakery items (no muffins, no scones).
There was only one person working, but they did a good job keeping up with the slow stream of customers. They seemed to handle the rush just fine, with a pleasant smile for everyone.
The drinks and pastries were very good. Most people who came in got their drinks to go, but a few stayed inside. The noise level was good, which made for a nice conversation.

Hours are wrong on Google. Drove out here from Milwaukee to use my Coffee Passport only to find them closed. Very disappointing and waste of gas.

Absolutely delicious food. Get there early as product can run out quickly. It can be a bit of a wait as often staff is short handed and a line forms quickly. Definitely worth the wait.
Stopped in to get a savory croissant to eat at the beach for lunch. Got the bacon croissant that was amazing. Highly recommend for a quick easy yummy lunch or breakfast.

We always have to come to Fresh Baked Café when we visit my sister. Every town should have a bakery like this. My husband and I usually share the chocolate croissant and the quiche. Although we have tried the cherry tart and the almond croissant as well. Everything is outstanding!
Went to get coffee and croissant at 7:30am. Bakery opens at 8am. SO stopped by Roots for coffee and returned back at 8am. Bought croissant and sat at the table. The owner frowned that I was drinking coffee from another store. Went on to scold me for suggesting his coffee was no good. Added that he left his country to come here and make a living. Is this how customer service works in France?? People in US would like to have coffee before 8am. I didnt argue. Tipped the store and left. I dont think I would visit there again. Roots staff is hardworking and deserve my business.
Good bakery. Had a variety of croissants they were all good.
