If you’re in Oconomowoc I highly recommend Whelan’s! If you’re like me and truly, truly enjoy high quality coffee then this is the go-to place! I’ve tried other coffee shops in the area and they all fell flat in comparison. From the friendly staff (Laurel and Julie), to the selection of baked goods and ice cream, to the “kick back and relax” hometown vibe, Whelan’s is truly a diamond in the rough!

Whelans is an adorable little coffee/ice cream shop. The setup with various spaces to sit and visit are great plus they have board games to keep folks busy connecting. Lots of yummy coffee and ice cream options and I LOVE their acai bowl - the granola is so good! Everything I visit downtown Oconomowoc, this is a stop for sure!
A really nice coffee shop with incredible atmosphere. The 2nd level is really nice with ample seating, games, and great decor. I had a cruller and it was excellent. Especially dunking it. I also had a Cappuccino which had the perfect amount of foam and milk. Saw a church group there as well as students and folks just hanging out. Really nice quiet place.

We were in the area on a Monday and found some places closed but Whelan's was open! They had cookies, scones, and Chocolate Shoppe brand ice cream. We were there for warm beverages but were not opposed to ice cream, so we had both tea and ice cream. Mr. R had his Chocolate Shoppe usual, Zanzibar chocolate. I tried something called THIS $&@! JUST GOT SERIOUS, dubbed as smooth salted caramel ice cream brimming with rich sea salt fudge and salted cashews. It was pretty good. Service was prompt at the counter and we sat in front of where you order but I noticed that there was a seating area upstairs as well with tables for larger groups. They offer breakfast and lunch with items like avocado toast, baked oatmeal, smoothies, shakes and malts, and cold brew. We found a newspaper on a table nearby and had a relaxing time perusing the paper and enjoying our treats.

It was my first time there, I was visiting my sister. The peppermint mocha coffee was awesome as was the blueberry streusel muffin. Next time I'm visiting I'd like to try the ice cream.The staff was very nice, the upper level has tables and different games you can play while you are relaxing. I really like this place, we don't have anything like this in Kenosha.
Absolutely love this place, everything is high quality and the vibe is immaculate. I especially enjoy upstairs in the back, spend many hours having wonderful convos here. Would reccomend to just about anyone that likes baked goods, coffee/tea, and ice cream, as well as freeze dried candies made by the owner. Try the freeze dried Skittles that end up looking like skittle popcorn, they're amazing.

Holy cow! Mind blowing coffee and tea with a beautiful little cookie on top, some sort of a ginger snap. So thoughtful. And then I got a Mediterranean quiche that just about blew my mind! The flavors were unbelievable and the prices are even better! Finally, a coffee shop fairly priced. I’m so thankful. I so recommend this place. What a great atmosphere and everybody there cares so much! You can taste the love in their wonderful food and assortment of drinks. I was visiting a friend and we stopped by this coffee shop. The service was good and I enjoyed the chai latte and bagel. I would say it is worth the visit and next time I would be interested in getting ice cream.
