A group of us spent the weekend in Oregon for some family time and the Badger game. We had driven past Sonny’s Kitchen a couple times and thought it looked like a cute place.
Before we all parted ways yesterday, we stopped for breakfast. The service was great - everyone was very friendly, our orders were taken and food brought out pretty fast. The portions were large and the food was delicious!!

Passing through and went here for breakfast vs. hotel breakfast. The restaurant is really cute in an old building. A lot of choices for breakfast, plus daily breakfast specials and pies/cakes if that's your thing. Reasonably priced and good portions. Our breakfast was delicious! The service was good. Plus, their house made hot sauce is great! We enjoyed our breakfast and would definitely stop here again if we were in the area. Lunch menu looked great too!

I've tried Sonny's 3 times now. Every time the service is abysmal. We were Immediately seated. It all fell apart after that. 20 minute wait to order drinks. No drink refills since waiter never came back. Food wait was about an hour for 2 people. Waited another 20 minutes to get our check. The check never came so we went to the counter to close out our bill. I try to support local as much as I can but will not be back. Having bad service 3 times is a pattern not a fluke or were too busy.

Having recently relocated to the area, we were on the hunt for a regular breakfast/brunch stop. We made the rounds of local and nearby spots, including several stops at Sonny's over the past 3 months. Initial experiences were positive with two thumbs-ups for most menu items. While food quality was generally high (Eggs Benedict especially), on a recent visit, we decided to try the Belgian Waffles. What we hoped would be crisp outside and evenly cooked inside, turned out to be crisp outside and completely raw waffle-mix inside.
I completely understand an off day now and then (even though it was not at all crowded on the above recent visit), so we will give Sonny's another try or two before taking our search elsewhere.
The idea of offering a half-portion of Eggs Benedict is a brilliant one as not everyone is in the mood for a full plate. It would be fair though if the half-portion were closer to half the price of full-portion.

I recently moved to the area and decided to support local business. The service was commendable—friendly and attentive. However, I was disappointed with their Friday fish fry. The fish, which was supposed to be walleye, lacked the distinctive flavor I was expecting. Instead, the meat was quite firm and overall bland. While I appreciate the warm hospitality, the fish fry didn't quite meet the mark. I hope to explore other menu items on my next visit.
