This place knows good food and even better service.
We went last Friday and loved the food and bartender was great so we decided to go again this week. After a long we of work and getting done at 8pm we knew it would be close to kitchen close by the time we got there.
I called in our order ahead and they had the food hot and ready to eat the moment we walked in. To top it off, even got a bit of Yuengling beer with dinner!

Great Experience! We were able to seat ourselves, we knew what we wanted ahead of time. I was a little apprehensive when our meal came..the fish looked like giant fish sticks..but it was amazing. Great portion sizes, the coleslaw and beans tasted homemade as well as the tarter sauce. My Whiskey Old Fashioned Sour with olives and an orange slice was perfect.

1873 is the BEST place in Portage to eat!! The burgers are amazing, homemade fries & chips-perfect! Great price for all the food you get & you won't walk away hungry! I met several family members for lunch & they all loved the food.

My wife and I stopped after Christmas Eve church. They were open and having a good time. We had chicken wings and Old Fashioneds. Both were great. The woman behind the bar was smoking hams outside for Christmas Dinner that they were having the next day! It smelled great. The 2 guys in the kitchen were laughing and joking with the customers. It was a great place to be!!!

Passing thru Portage on Christmas Day. Stopped in for lunch and were greeted at door with a warm holiday welcome. We had great festive drinks and delicious sandwiches off of menu. Steph and team were extremely hospitable and made our Christmas away from home special. Only bad part, we didn’t win big at pull tabs. 🙂

Driving home we decided to stop in Portage to find food and were pleased with our choice. The burgers were good, the fries were amazingly crispy and the Mac and cheese very unique. We are glad we ordered it despite not being what we expected. It’s more of a creamy chicken soup base type of Mac but we were there for it. Our server (Sarah?) was super friendly and chill with the perfect amount of attention. We would totally visit here again.

The atmosphere is great, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly and attentive.
Watch out for DoorDash descriptions as they’re misleading. Thought I was supposed to get a bottle instead of fountain machine dispenser.
Food is top notch though, so definitely a go on that front.

Our first mother-daughter trip to Pardeeville so we swung into 1873 Bar and Grille. Sarah greeted us and made sure our experience was amazing. The kitchen crew was on point, everything was delicious!
