Disappointed and Disrespected — Would Not Recommend
We had planned to end our all-staff day on Lake Wisconsin with a visit to Remy’s Thirsty Moose on Friday. However, from the water, the place looked closed and almost abandoned — not exactly the welcoming spot we were expecting.
Earlier in the day, one of my staff members had parked near the restaurant, off the road on the pavement by the house. When we returned from our boat outing, her car was gone. It had been towed — by the owner of Remy’s.
We were told there was a sign posted, but upon investigation, we found it was nearly impossible to see due to overgrown brush. The parking lot was empty. The restaurant was empty. At no point was her car causing an inconvenience to anyone. It’s disheartening to think that, rather than welcoming potential patrons, Remy’s chose to tow a vehicle — one that may have been associated with future business.
This was the last thing my staff member needed. She was driving her daughter’s car because her own vehicle had broken down the weekend before. She’d already spent $750 on repairs and now had to pay nearly $300 to retrieve the towed car — a devastating and unnecessary expense.
I’ve visited Remy’s in the past and had heard about their struggles with staffing and slow business. After this experience, it’s clear why. There’s no compassion or consideration here — just a quick trigger for towing, with zero effort to understand the situation.
I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend Remy’s Thirsty Moose to anyone who values kindness, community, or decency. There are far better spots on the lake that won’t leave you feeling taken advantage of.
Excellent food, wonderful atmosphere, Shayn and Helen do an absolutely fantastic job to ensure you are taken care of. Service was top notch. Highly recommend stopping in. This is definitely the go to spot!

I needed a fish fry lunch on the way up north and found this place. Nice view of the lake and had a great walleye fish fry lunch. The dark/amber beer on tap was really good. Service was excellent at the bar. I would love to come back anytime. Recommend.

Haven't been here in a long time! Glad we stopped! Bloody Mary was Excellent!!! Food was even better, Stop in and try something!
AMAZING!! Remi's smokes their own meat (including the salmon which they also fillet and debone) prepare all their own sauces, and so much more! Not only were our Smoked Salmon Salad w/ pineapple-mango vinaigrette and our Pecan-Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich w/ Bourbon Sauce on the side and Sweet Potato Fries DELICIOUS, it was all fresh!!! Megan & Chris are super helpful, super knowledgeable, and super friendly. Remi's is a must stop when you're in the area. We will definitely be back!
We love coming to the tiki bar by boat on the lake as we have a cabin on Lake Wisconsin. We have stopped by countless times this summer even on busy holiday weekends (4th of July and Labor Day) and the tiki is NEVER open! Very disappointing. You would think they could give up a bartender from inside to go out there as this place (and employees) could be making a lot more money if the tiki was open, especially during holiday weekends!

We love when we get to stop in at the Moose! They have a great atmosphere and awesome staff and food. It's a great location on the lake and it's nice to be able to stop while you're out on the boat to get some food. Highly recommend giving them a try if you're in the area.

Stopped in for a quick dinner and a couple beers after boating. Average bar food. Great view. Local clientele. Interacted with staff. Had a pleasant college-aged bartender at first. Talked with her about her career aspirations after school, normal stuff. As a very part-time bartender myself, I asked if they knew anyone else (had friends, etc.) who was looking for a bartending job - I'm a recruiter by trade. A male bartender/the owner switched out with the previous bartender at shift change and immediately and only gave his attention to employee customers/a group of locals at the other end of the bar. Apparently, he did not appreciate me asking for employee referrals. I looked and signaled for 15 minutes without him turning around or acknowledging me. I've heard similar stories from others about being ignored for their preferred clientele but wanted to give this establishment a chance and see for myself. Thankfully, the person I was with had offered to pay for dinner before we got there. I walked outside back to my boat leaving knowing they had no further interest in my business.

This place was terrible waited 1 and 1/2 hours for food that never came. Couldn't even get the staff's help. Ordered before a family of 6 next to us and food came out and they finished while I'm still waiting for staff to answer questions

Okay so I didn't actually order food my friends did, and they loved it. The moose sauce is superb, the thing that really got me though, was the service. Idk if she was owner or just employee but she seemed to have a genuine report with her locals and she had a great sense of humor. All in all I fully intend to return
