Food was great and fast service!

There’s a chance the food is good but when we saw the right-wing flag outside, we turned around and found a much more welcoming restaurant to have lunch.

The lady that worked up front gave my toddler a coloring book and some toys to play with before, we started ordering. That was very kind of her and made the wait time for food easier on my toddler. When ordering, I asked for a side of ham to go with my toddlers food. The lady asked if I wanted that cut up. I had asked if they could if they weren't busy otherwise I can cut it up that's no problem at all. The cook cut the ham into smaller cube size peices for him to be able to eat. I though that was very sweet.
In fact, we didn't wait that long for food. The food was absolutly, delicious! Homade food is well worth the money spent! The prices are reasonable as well. We will be back again.

They under cooked the fried pickles and false advertisement on the every sandwich come with a side you have to ask for a side which is outrageous for the face I spent 11 dollars on a sandwich that wasn't even filling but the Northside Skillet was good so one star for that but all in all not 44 dollars worth of food

Was there tonight for the rib and chicken that's their Saturday special. Got there at 6 pm and was informed they were already out of white meat, so I ordered just a full rack of ribs . When it came out the dinner roll was dry, the ribs were plastered in BBQ sauce and the meat was way over cooked. Almost like chewing on a leather boot, the green beans were also gross. Best thing on my plate was the french fries.

Excellent diner with homemade, delicious food and a hometown atmosphere. Service is fantastic. Cannot wait to go back each time I visit or pass through Rice Lake. Highly recommend.

We popped in for a lunch while heading into town during our vacation in Birchwood. The food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious with healthy portions. I had a cheeseburger which was freshly hand pattied and seasoned well. The fries were perfect. I also had a cup of the chicken dumpling soup which I highly recommend. My husband got the cinnamon roll pancakes and said they were wonderful. The waitress was friendly and helpful. My only critique is that when we walked in the waitress made eye contact with us, but didn't acknowledge us. This in itself is not a big deal, but there were only 2 other tables at the time, and we sat there for awhile before she even acknowledged we were there. She went back and forth to the back a few times, and then finally came with menus. We actually were wondering if we should just leave and go somewhere else, when she finally came and spoke to us. It would have tsken her no additional effort to welcome us and tell us she would be with us soon. That we can understand. Thankfully she made up for it with her service once she brought us our menus.
