We had heard good things about Lure in Sister Bay and thought we should check it out and see if it was worth adding to our Door favorites. We split the clam chowder soup, crusty bread and main course of Pan Roast (seafood in a creamy spicy tomato base with rice). The bread was perfectly crusty, the chowder was creamy, flavorful, but not over salted, which happens too often. The main course was lovely. We also split a generous slice of cherry pie ala mode. It was delightfully tart, but we would have expected it to be warm. The waitstaff were meh. The young men were indifferent and addressed only the male. They were efficient, however.
Not impressed. Service is good, ambiance is good, food, well I won't be going back and was not worth the cost. I had high expectations that were not met. Live and learn
Invited 2 friends to dinner and we did cocktails, dinner and the lava cake for dessert. They loved the entire meal. Crab cakes and 2 small filets all thoroughly enjoyed' server was friendly and did a great job! LURE is my fave place in the county to have salmon; and sadly they took lobster bisque off the menu. Hoping it returns next in 2026 “season”
Beautiful restaurant, delicious food and drink - highly recommend the whitefish, cornbread, and their espresso martini. We were served quickly at the bar and as soon as we were done at the bar, we were seated at our table. Great experience and would definitely recommend it to others.
Lure was very busy and filled with lively conversations. We both ordered the Friday night fish dinner—perch, French fries, coleslaw, and cherry pie. A favorite meal when we are in Door County!
Loved the building. Crab cakes, on menu said “lump” crab cakes, were not. It was minced crab like every other you can buy. Filet is supposed to be a great cut of meat, but a full 25% was inedible, like the butt end of any other steak. Cherry pie great.
The service and food was excellent! For an evening of fine dining and wonderful experience, I highly recommend Lure!
We all had seafood dinners and they were delicious. Cocktails and wine were outstanding, service was impeccable..
The food and service were excellent. The prices seem a little high for an early bird special. The most distracting thing is the lack of acoustics. We were at a booth and the restaurant was full, and you could barely hear the people on the other side of the table speak.
This restaurant has the potential of being great! It was a very busy weekend. My wife/I were seated quickly. Wait staff was right there. Food was OK, but not great. Smaller portions which is OK, but I would have preferred a little more. I was intrigued by the cold, pickled? (vinegar) ulienne carrots/onions as my vegetable ... creative. We did have appetizers as well. Generally, it was a good experience, but not great. That doesn't mean it was bad, just nothing stood out as being fantastic. Would I go back? Sure, I'd like to try it again to see if anything has changed. Maybe a slower night when things are so busy. A little pricey, but I'm sure they knew that the weekend would bring the restaurant a lot of visitors who didn't want to fix food.

Love the early bird meals & the $5 Old Fashioned cocktail! Sticky ribs & crab cake entrees were very good! Nice ambiance on the porch! Would definitely recommend.
The food is delicious. They have a very good drink list. The service is top notch. Great ambiance.
Surf and turf was cooked to perfection, exactly how ordered. Seafood in pasta was fresh, while seasoning of creamy sauce was satisfying. Service was laid back, allowing us to enjoy an intimate date night.
For the fine dining prices, it really felt like Lure is just going through the motions. Entrees are $30-$50 but there are plastic succulents on the tables and they charge $8.95 for bread. Waiter barely cracked a smile and was overall kind of unwelcoming. Food wasn't bad, but there are many better options in DC and in Sister Bay, especially at this price point.
Go during happy hour and get the crab nachos! The calamari was also very good but the crab nachos was a great portion and a unique dish
