“My wife had the pulled pork sandwich and baked beans, they were excellent. I had the meatloaf and baked beans, I can honestly say it was the best meatloaf I've ever had, and I love ”
“I had the spicy salmon sushi, which was a very nice portion and it was so good! It was also Very reasonably priced for my family of 4. I've never been to a restaurant where I feel so welcome and where it's actually at a healthy meal. I will be back!Kid-friendliness: Plenty of options that kids would like.”
“My husband and I came to town on vacation and stopped here for a snack and it was perfect!! The tiramisu cake was SO GOOD. I am not able to handle caffeine, but wanted a hot drink since it was chilly outside and they worked with me and made me a DELICIOUS steamer. Already planning to go back tomorrow for another drink and treat. Service was great and food was even better!”
“Im working not far from your amazing sub kitchen, and your Italian sub is the best of its kind that I've ever had! It starts with the amazing bread!!!! It's absolutely amazing all the way around, and I can't wait to eat ANY other sub that you guys make! DELICIOUS IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT!!!”
“I really dislike wine but my wife loves it so we decided to stop. The GM Liz was amazing and recommended a wine to me which I actually really enjoyed! Highly recommend as my wife also loved all that she tried as well! Great atmosphere, friendly staff, must try!”
“second time into door county with wife and this was the first time at this café for our espresso fix. wonderful & helpful staff. i tried their Sweet Sweet Summer - Hot and wife got Iced Strong Cappuccino, they were both perfect strong flavors made the way we wanted. 100% recommend this place! this place is also a delicatessen with Boar's Head”
“This is a great place to stay right around the corner from the famous Al Johnson's restaurant. There is also a great pizza restaurant and coffee house within walking distance.”
“My wife and I love coffee and this place did not disappoint! We tried the Iced Mochas with a sausage and ham breakfast sandwich. Both of which were really good, the coffee was not burnt or bitter but just right and the sandwiches were hot, and we'll worth the money. The staff were super nice as well!”
“Best restaurant in Door County! I am a local, born and raised, and it is always such a pleasure to visit Al Johnson’s! Definitely get the Swedish Pancake Special- meatballs, and add fresh strawberries and whipped cream to your Swedish pancakes! Order a side of wheat toast to lap up the eggs and meatballs!”
“Stopped by at 10:00 a.m. for Bloody Marys with my sister-in-laws. We all loved the drinks. Service was fast and friendly and location is fun. The best spot in the house is near the street so you can pet all the dogs that walk by!”
“Fun little bar & restaurant. Waitress was very pleasant & helpful. Food was great, atmosphere was great, & great view.Wheelchair accessibility: Very easy entrance for handicap as I am one!”
“A special place in a convenient, albeit somewhat hidden, location. Service was fantastic. Food was excellent. Ambiance is superb. If you like Italian cuisine, go here! So glad they reopened. We will return often.”
“This is amazing pizza even though we decided to go for takeaway. We went on a Monday during the off season and faced an hour wait. Be prepared. There's basically nothing else open in the winter. Thank goodness we stayed close by.”
“My girlfriends and I visited lure this past weekend! We had a variety of things to try and every single item was phenomenal, we will definitely be back next time we are in the area!”
“Our food was wonderful. Our hostess got us a table earlier when we arrived a little bit early and requested one. Everyone was extremely polite and very accommodating. We had steak and walleye. Both were fantastic. We will definitely go back again.”
“The coffee here was absolutely amazing. I haven't had a Carmel mocha latte that good in my life and I drink more coffee then most people. Very impressed check this place out!”
“We really liked this taproom. Food was very good, fantastic beer options, super chill atmosphere, very kid friendly, and the staff was awesome. Thank you for a wonderful lunch!”
“This place is seriously awesome! Food was fantastic, the concept is amazing, and the staff was beyond friendly. My kids absolutely loved it and have been asking to go back. Thank you for a great dinner/evening.”
“Wonderful spot for a fish boil and better than the more touristy options in the area. This small restaurant serves traditional fish boils and cajun fish boils on alternating days. We arrived without a reservation just after one of their boils, and the owner and hostess were gracious enough to make room for us. We thought we’d be served leftovers, but the owner went outside and freshly boiled an order for us! We missed the official show but instead got to watch from the warm interior. Reservations are expected, don’t assume you’ll get lucky like we did.The restaurant is really cute and clean. There is a lovely view over the harbor and the boiling kettle itself. As far as I’m aware, there is no menu and no options. If you’re there on a traditional or cajun night that is what you’re getting. They did have a nice variety of alcohol. The price was a bit high but fair for the experience and quality. The staff were only okay, but I thought their slight edge was fair given the end of an exhausting tourist season. The owner was very personable and took the time to help many patrons debone their fish. The traditional fish boil is served with the fish itself, potatoes, a sweet onion, corn, coleslaw, and bread. The bread was pretty good. The meal looked simple when served but ended up being delicious. The fish had a good flavor to it and came from nearby waters. The potatoes were livened up by the melted butter. The owner makes his own cajun seasoning and sauce. The liberal application of both made the meal even better. The corn and sweet onion were great. The owner described the onion as taking on a candy-like flavor and he wasn’t wrong. The coleslaw was great (my companion described it as the best she’d ever had). This meal is a lot of work to eat given the inevitable picking of bones. Therefore it’s probably not a great first date spot, but very cute for couples who know one another and can deal with some fish bones. They served cherry pie for dessert, which was the weakest part of the meal. Overall this was a lovely experience.”
“Really cute places with great coffee, assortment of cars games, dessert, food and drinks. Make sure to check out their daily specials. They do a great job of maintaining amazing ambience.”
“So glad this place was reinvented into one of our favorite stops in all of Door County. The building sat empty for many years before reopening about three years ago. It has it all - food, beer, wine, and a market. There is no where else you can grab a drink and shop. Their food is fast, affordable, convenient, and most of all delicious. Their nachos are loaded with a protein of your choice and fresh ingredients. These are some of the best nachos I've ever had. The pork is tender and smokey and the beer cheese sauce really take it to the next level. This time o tried their nacho special - Hawaiian (pictured) which came with pineapple and jalapeño salsa, pulled pork, sweet bbq sauce, and topped with cojita cheese. My husband loves their rib tips which come with a choice of sauce. They have most of their hot sauces available to try on your food before purchasing in their market. Other menu items include tacos, walking tacos, hot dogs, soup and salad. Bridge up brewing has something for everyone. A great selection of their own beers and guest beers. They even have NA, sour, cider, and seltzer options. If beer isn't for you they also have wine available. The market has it all - canned items, fresh baked goods, frozen door county specialties, etc. They also have a good selection of novelties such as games, jewelry, and gifts. There is some indoor seating, but the outdoor patio takes it all. Lots of tables with umbrellas, large fire pits, and yard games for the whole family. There are board games and cribbage board available inside as well. Make sure it add this place you your list, it has something for everyone!”
“I've loved Island Orchard cider for years and had never been there in person. Our friends built a place minutes away so I had to stop in. What a wonderful experience! Finally being able to taste the limited release ciders of only seen on Facebook was awesome. I loved the music they had playing and the food (charcuterie) selection was great and reasonably priced. I'll be back!”
“Blue Horse Beach Cafe was such a fun stop! My husband and I loved the drinks we got, he got a double espresso and I got a large iced chai, my chai was pretty milky, but still delicious. We waited for 15 minutes before going up to ask where our drinks were. They had lost them in the business and kindly made them right away. It was no problem at all and they were super nice about it giving us a cookie for our troubles. Overall it was a great experience, the staff was very sweet!”
“We absolutely love popping in and having some beers whenever we are in town. This time around, Mike, the manager was absolutely amazing. The team was really knowledgeable and they really did take care of us. You guys also nail the different styles flawlessly. Thank you for all that you do and we will see you soon!”
“Went there tonight for dinner with my husband. He had the perch dinner. I had the seafood chowder & whitefish sandwich. Let me tell you, that chowder was SOOOOO good!! I'm going to rave about this because I just loved the taste. The rest of our food was good too. Definitely would return when coming back to Door County.”
“As the menu states, the pizza takes 30 minutes but well worth it! The beer and wine selection seems carefully and intelligently curated, and the gentleman behind the bar manages the entire place with ease, even though he is the only one there. Will definitely return again soon!”
“We stopped in here twice during our vacation and the barista who I think may also be the owner was so friendly and gave some great recommendations for food in the area. We tried the banana bread, mint mocha, chai tea, hot coco, and 'bee'mer. Everything was really good!”
“Nice cozy breakfast place! The apple cinnamon scones were the best I have ever had. They weren't hard like a brick like most scones. They were crumbly and nice and creamy tasting. Waffles were delicious--bacon was perfect.”
“Honestly the only thing bad about this place was the attitude of the man hosting, seating and taking the phone calls.Otherwise it had a great atmosphere, the server was extremely knowledgeable and ran off all of their multiple specials and descriptions off the top of his head. We had the lobster tail and the special of sea bass and the food was absolutely divine. Definitely a must visit!”
“Fantastic beers, great owner, cool space with games and fun seating. Music and chill vibe. Can’t wait to come back in the summer! Opened early for our group on a Friday and we all had so much fun.”
