Our favorites are the kettle corn, garlic parm, door county cherry, Oreo, island mix and…. White cheddar. I am sure there are more as well.”

“On a weekday in October, there are not many places that are open for lunch on Washington Island. We felt fortunate to find KK Fiske open. As we planned to have fish for dinner that night, none of us ordered fish for lunch, even tho it's the specialty. We had tasty elk burgers instead, fried onion rings (excellent) and cole slaw. It hit the spot. Our server/bartender was friendly and capable. The place was not full. The building was interesting, the decor rustic and old-time-y. It was enjoyable.”

“Predictably good food. Had lunch with 3 guys who like to eat. Pretzel roll was perfect for the BBQ pulled pork or brisket sandwich. Fries were both tasty and a nice portion. Solid assortment of beers. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Clean!”

“While exploring the island with friends, they chose to go to mass and I chose to get a sandwich from the deli. the deli was closed but across the street was this lovely little cafe. The server was very friendly and chatty. The turkey burger was huge and tasty. I'm talking my husband into taking a trip in the spring where we hope to stay here and try their breakfast.”

“Came here with a group of friends while visiting the island. Got here at 7:55pm and was told they stop serving food at 8. The bartender was nice enough to still take our dinner order. I felt the portions were large and the drinks were good.”

“We ate here for dinner and were very impressed. Don't be fooled by the name. They don't serve 'bar' food. Their menu is more towards fine dining with some very good seafood options. Staff was very friendly and attentive. We had the White Fish and Duck and were pleased with the quality and presentation. The pub also has a good view of the lake for sunset.”

“This a must on the island it's a friendly spot with locals and toursit blended together. Depending on the time of year, they have a supper club, tavern menu, and pretty great pizzas. Love the tap selections. Mel is a great bartender to chat it up with. Many friendly people to talk to that have a history of the island to share. Join the bitters club and get the story! The walls are covered with island history worth looking at. Lots to see here for a quick beer or a long hang and watching a game or playing pool.”

“I've loved Island Orchard cider for years and had never been there in person. Our friends built a place minutes away so I had to stop in. What a wonderful experience! Finally being able to taste the limited release ciders of only seen on Facebook was awesome. I loved the music they had playing and the food (charcuterie) selection was great and reasonably priced. I'll be back!”

“We stopped in here twice during our vacation and the barista who I think may also be the owner was so friendly and gave some great recommendations for food in the area. We tried the banana bread, mint mocha, chai tea, hot coco, and 'bee'mer. Everything was really good!”

“Went for lunch and a beer. Ended up staying and playing games and chatting with the bartender (owner) for over three hours. Plan to go back any chance I get when I’m in the area. Just an awesome place with great food and beer selection.”

“Food is always great, and last evening was no exception. Absolutely delicious every time, hands down the best food in Door County. The Arancini are to die for and my wife loves the Bolognese which she said was superb as always. We have been hesitant to make the trip all the way from Fish Creek lately due to the short hostess/manager. I always told my employees to leave their egos at the door when they walked in for a reason, and she was a prime example of putting oneself in front of the business. As other reviews noted, the wound up and short with customers style is a huge turn off. Always micro-managing and creating confusion amongst the staff, jumping from the front door to behind the bar into the kitchen, and working over the top of the staff just to leave and talk to friends when they arrive, leaving the staff without the “help” she forced onto them, resulting in a breakdown in the flow and visible frustration from the staff. I’ve seen staff try to step up but are undermined by the furious micromanaging, almost as if she’s afraid that she won’t be perceived as the star of the show when the food itself should be (and clearly is). However, we have been there a few times the past few weeks and have not seen her, so either we have been lucky with their schedules or they are reorganizing now that the tourists are gone. Either way, the dynamic has visibly changed and the staff seems to be working better together, complimenting each other’s roles. Last evening, instead of the usual headache, the bartender last evening that greeted us was warm and welcoming, spending time interacting with returning customers like us and new customers like my friends and giving support when needed to our server Mary, who was absolutely charming, making everyone at our table and those around us feel special and welcome like a guest in her home and not simply a “customer”. If last night is indicative of the operation now, my wife and I will be back often and these guys don’t deserve the reputation as the drive up is well worth it.”
