Been in there a number times, typically during the off season for a burger and a beer. I've always felt unwelcomed, the only reason i went there is there very limited choice's during the off season. The food was good if you can get over the unwelcomed feeling from the old guy behind the bar. I doubt I'll be back, I would rather have a picnic in the park during the winter months then go back.
This was the only place open for lunch that we could find on Washington Island, as we were there the day after Columbus day and apparently the island shuts down for tourism after Columbus day (many other things closed too). My wife had the BBQ rib sandwich, I had the WI special burger-- one patty beef, one patty bulk bratwurst w/cheese (had this in the UP too on the last trip -- why is it that both times bulk bratwurst tasted more like breakfast sausage than bratwurst?) I gave this 3 stars because we didn't eat here as we came before they started serving dinner but felt like I dodged a bullet. The food may be good( I don't know) but it was a little scary walking in and I've been in Appalachia and felt more comfortable.
