The pancake special was so good! These are Swedish type pancakes and they come with meat balls. Even in the winter season on a Tuesday morning there's a wait. Fortunately, they have an extensive store with souvenirs that go way beyond restaurant merch. Super friendly staff, great staff outfits, cozy rustic atmosphere.
While on vacation in Door County, we made sure we visited the restaurant known for the goats on the roof. We knew we'd have fun, but we were pleasantly surprised! This place has delicious food, wonderful service, and a great selection of Scandinavian gifts. Best restaurant in Door County! I am a local, born and raised, and it is always such a pleasure to visit Al Johnson’s! Definitely get the Swedish Pancake Special- meatballs, and add fresh strawberries and whipped cream to your Swedish pancakes! Order a side of wheat toast to lap up the eggs and meatballs!
