Beautiful, rustic campground. I live finding little gems like this. Not a crazy busy, big park. Great place to relax. Nice, easy-to-use and beautiful hiking trails. So many pictures taken, and they definitely don't do it justice. We have visited in the summer and in the spring just after a nice blanket of snow, not sure what time was my favorite. Just so much beauty in this little state park! Could just sit and listen to the falls all day, can't wait to go back!

Visited the falls area and checked out campsites for the future, since I want to come back in spring. One of the falls must be for runoff, since it was currently not active (named Now and Then Falls for a reason). But the upper and lower falls area was a blast. The sandstone in the area is a unique sight, since it is pink. We will be back to hike, camp and explore more of this beautiful area.

Very scenic park. The small rapids along the park road when we first drove in really caught our eyes. I was excited to see the covered bridge in person. The multiple waterfalls and the rocky stream are very picturesque. The park is smaller but a lot of fun to spend time at. I want to go back and eat lunch in one of the many picnic tables. The restrooms were pit type but they were clean. We spent 45 minutes here and wish we had more time.

October is a beautiful season to visit here.We stopped here on a Friday. It was quiet and peaceful. With the fall colors it was well worth the stop.Just a short drive off of Hwy 2 it has parking on the sides of the falls.

Beautiful setting with multiple waterfalls and plenty of cool places to explore. Test your balance walking the river rocks below the lower falls and hike the trails surrounding the falls. Loved the sound of the rushing water and seeing the rock layers throughout the gorge. Worth a stop!Picnic area: Multiple picnic areas scattered around the falls and hiking paths.

This is a beautiful family friendly park! You get down into the water, walk along and easy path, or take the path less traveled and make it an afternoon! We had such a great time exploring and seeing many other families make great memories together!

Went to hike the waterfalls. Very nice trails to walk and explore the falls. Walked down to the river and enjoyed some beautiful pictures. Some people were swimming under the big falls, which was fun. Covered bridge was beautiful too and very unique! Loved the fairly easy hike. Ground is uneven and rough, but we did see someone with a stroller getting around.Really cool feature was the selfie stand, never seen one before, tried it, and worked really neat!

Neat little park with some nice falls. Trail was short and easy. There was also a cool covered bridge. Some people were swimming near the falls as well. It also wasn't as busy as the nearby parks

The root beer falls is an amazing summer destination. After the falls there is an ice cold spring in the back that is so refreshing and natural. The only reason to stay in Duluth is this state park.

Amazing State Park with beautiful waterfalls. You could walk about a half mile and see several waterfalls at this place. 10/10 recommend stopping by when you’re in the area. Check out Pattison State Park while you’re in the area if you’re taking a special trip!

Great kid friendly place to visit! Washrooms and places to BBQ or pic-Nic. Lots of trails that follow the streams so bring hiking or sneakers with tread and leave the crocs in the car. Lots of photo ops. Verizon is 1 bar this area, so as always keep your tank more than 1/2 full and download the whole area for offline google maps when needed when exploring! Enjoy!

This was such a beautiful park to visit. The waterfall was breathtaking, and always audible even if not in sight. Such a wonderful discovery that I encourage everyone to go and see.

Very cool spot. Campground, large fire pit, picnic areas, covered bridge over the river, interesting rock formations. Close to Superior.

This is one of my favorite state parks to camp at! The waterfalls are stunning. There is a covered bridge, campsites, picnic areas, and awesome hiking trails. The forest is full of cool plants and mushrooms, and so much more! Highly recommend this for camping with family, the kiddo loved it!

Awesome place! Stopped by while visiting duluth and will be making another trip back to spend the day checking it out. There are so many trails to check out and waterfalls around every bend of the river. Was not expecting this place to be this cool! Also took a quick drive through the camping area and looks great woth all the camping spots separated by trees.
