Great beer and such a cool place!
My husband and I were just passing through Sparta on our way home to Minnesota and stopped in on a whim on New Year's Day. We received such friendly and welcoming service. I loved the focus on Midwest beers, and really enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. (It's located in an old mechanic's shop from the 30s and in addition to the cool architectural details, there are a lot of fun and eclectic touches, like an 8-track tape player.) BEER SHOP, a renovated old service station in Sparta, offers a great selection of craft beers, with friendly and helpful staff. The atmosphere is dog-friendly and welcoming, making both regulars and newcomers feel at home. The unique setting, a former mechanic-garage-bar, exudes industrial charm with retro signage and vintage decor, creating a cool, nostalgic vibe. Outside area is available, perfect for enjoying a beer or two in the summer while soaking in the scenic sunset views of the Coulees of the driftless region. Although they don't serve food, outside food is allowed, making it a great spot for a relaxing drink. The beer selection is carefully curated, featuring local and regionally sourced options, including hop-forward favorites and unique brews you won’t find elsewhere.
