I don't eat steak which is their main pull I suppose. But I do love their appetizers, sides, drinks, and excellent service. I have food allergies and very few places have been as mindful as Wissota Chophouse. The waitress checked with the bartender about drink ingredients and the chef made me an amazing dairy free mushroom risotto! They do a lovely dinner service and the environment is very modern and clean. Be sure to check out the fun cocktail menu some of the drinks are sparkly!Vegetarian options: Mushroom risotto, salads, asparagus, and delicious truffle friesDietary restrictions: Let the staff know what you cannot have and they will work to adjust what they can and be clear and honest when changes can't be made to specific dishes.

Amazing staff! Amazing food! Steak was slightly overcooked but the quality of the meat made up for it. Huckleberry Old Fashioned was amazing! Kayla our waitress was fantastic!

I travel for work. A LOT. And of course I try to find places that have the best reviews. However, they don't always pan out well. This chophouse ABSOLUTELY lives up to the reviews! I ordered their field green salad for a starter and the Parmesan Brussel sprouts as a side to my peppercorn crusted dry aged pork, which was recommended by my super sweet waitress Madeline! It was by far the BEST pork dish I have ever had and the fat was perfectly rendered on the pork chop, not even remotely rubbery.I was also here for happy hour and when I asked Madeline for recommendations based on my preferences, she was right on point! A lovely buttery chardonnay that went so well with the pork.Lastly, I don't normally get dessert, I don't have much of a sweet tooth in general, but after my wonderful meal how could I resist? I ordered the raspberry tiramisu and it was the perfect end to a wonderful meal.Did I over eat? Yes. Was it worth it? Absolutely. Before I left the restaurant I was already texting a co-worker that will be coming through in a few weeks and recommended it to them. This food was amazing, the staff was wonderful and the chef KNOWS what they are doing in the kitchen and I can't applaud any louder! So business trip, date night or splurge dinner, Wissota Chophouse is a must!

The service was on point. Very friendly and attentive staff. All of the food was delicious, from the crab cakes & charcuterie board to the mushroom risotto & brussel sprouts. My spouse had the dry-aged ribeye and he was very impressed (he is a steak snob!). The only negative with any of the food was that the scallops were quite salty, and the staff commented that is unfortunately typical. Overall, great experience. Yes, it is also on the pricey side for the area, but great for a special occasion.

5-6 unsupervised teenagers were coming into the restaurant and looking for attention. One came to our table asking for food off of our table. Not the kind of thing you want to deal with when you are dropping $350 on a meal. Brought it up to the manager and he said he was dealing with it. Never apologized, never followed up. The entire ordeal was strange. Food was good. Ordered the A5 Wagyu, was excellent. Also ordered a 5 oz filet that was supposed to be med rare and it came out med well. I ate it and didn't send it back. As far as ambience, the restaurant is very small and tables are spaced in a strange way. You feel like you are just sitting in the middle of a room. Next time will request a table near a wall.

Olivia was so sweet and funny loved her! She has an amazing personality! We will definitely be back again! Our food was perfection and the fact the the chef on duty was so young and both our proteins came out the perfect temp and everything else was on point makes me excited for his future as a chef! Thank you so much again was a perfect date night!

So my boyfriend took me to this restaurant for the first time. First thing, the restaurant is beautiful right when you walk in, it’s not too big, has a nice home feeling with beautiful interior design and dim for a perfect romantic dinner. Second thing, I wanted to start with some champagne and one of the managers really took care of me, hand picked out something that was perfect due to my requirements. Very professional and knowledgeable. Third thing, the staff was lovely, professional, and they all had a personality, not super stiff like most restaurant staff at other cookie cutter restaurants which was very refreshing. Fourth thing, the FOOD. ☺️ for starters we had Buffalo fried alligator and crab cakes to share. The alligator was perfect and idk what dipping sauce they use but it was off the chain. Crab cakes were good, very crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth on the inside. Delicious. For our entrees, I had their rack of lamb and my boyfriend had their Wassota Burger with their truffle fries. I absolutely loved my rack of lamb, cooked really well and the flavor was great. My boyfriend had his burger and it wasn’t cooked the way he asked but he thought it was still okay. We ordered dessert drinks. I had the toasted almond martini and my boyfriend had the White Russian. I absolutely loved my toasted almond martini, but for the price, I was expecting some actual martini glasses and some art like chocolate syrup on the glass or SOMETHING. But overall the drink tasted good. My boyfriend wasn’t very impressed with his White Russian, it had ice in it and it really watered down the flavors that a White Russian is known for. So again, drinks not really worth their salt in price. Last but not least, Chef John made us a dessert off menu, the Blueberry Crème Brûlée. I have had a lot of Créme Brûlée in the past, but the word I couldn’t get out of my head was “superior”. It was the most delicious Créme Brûlée I personally have ever had! The sugar crust at the top was done to perfection and the inside was the most amazing texture. I really don’t anything could top it.So overall, I’d give the restaurant in a whole a 4. The staff was amazing, atmosphere amazing. Variety in food and drinks is great. The dessert drinks could be a little better. Entrees could be priced better. I don’t think the food is worth 35+ per plate based on the overall quality of the meat. But the dessert really surprised me and everything overall very good.

First time at Wissota. Was at a Conf at Holiday Inn Conf Center. Asked the front desk where I could take 14 clients out for a nice steak dinner. She suggested Wissota & we all are so grateful she did! Kayla was great to work with prior to the dinner & the night of. The Chef made us a limited menu that was 1 of the best meals I've had in a long time. Everyone was so pleased!

I visited Wissota-Stevens Point after attending a local conference in the area. Needed a good dinner. My reservation was easy to book. The location was easy to find. The server and host staff were outstanding all very nice and attentive. The menu is overpriced for the quality received. I ordered a bourbon old fashioned which was excellent. A French onion soup to start which also was very good. The main course was another story. My bordelaise didn't even taste like a bordelaise. My NY strip had almost no crust which is to be expected at a steakhouse of this price caliber. I ordered medium and it was more like medium rare to rare and unevenly cooked. The whipped garlic mashed potatoes were so sad. I've had gas station mashed potatoes that had more flavor. No garlic, no butter, cream, or salt and pepper. They were just not seasoned with a little bit of chive on top. Overall dinner was extremely disappointing. My server did offer to replace my side or address some of the issues but at that point you just kind of know that nothing coming out of the kitchen is going to do it at that point. The ambiance and decor and staff were wonderful but the kitchen needs an overhaul to command NY steakhouse prices. Even Outback or Texas Roadhouse chains offer a better product at a better value for money.

I don't know where these bad reviews are coming from. The food, drinks, and service are the best in town. You get what you pay for! Inflation happens. These steaks are top notch, 14 oz Ribeye was cooked perfectly. Scallops are unbelievably fresh and seared BEAUTIFULLY! Oysters are are bomb diggidy, not your cheap convential gulf oysters I've found in town! Truffle Mac n Cheese is soul comforting! The Japanese A5 wagyu, good luck finding that at MUSE, Michele's, or any other joint in town, cooked to perfection and melt in your mouth. Whoever is training these bartenders, KUDOS! Seasonal cocktails are a wonderful suprise for this big small town, clearly this location is doing something right! Always and forever recommend Wissota Chophouse. From what I see on Facebook specials are a culinary exploration of the world. Can't wait to stop back in for a very fine date night!
