Good intentions, poor execution. We mostly ordered sushi or sushi-adjacent items; maybe the more American food is tastier ??‍♂️

Anthony was great. The food took forever and it was really salty. The AC was too cold as well.

Amazing! Our son came from Minneapolis to Door to surprise us for our birthdays! He wanted to take us to Donny’s for dinner, but made no reservations. We ended up at Crate in downtown (3rd Ave) Sturgeon-unassuming outside, but gave a try-I am a lover of foods around the globe, and I had THE BEST stuffed Pork chop I’ve EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!!! We all loved the Sushi!! Loved my husband’s ‘Crate Old Fashioned!’ My Son loved his steak. I highly recommend!

First time at Crate tonight. Not planning to return. I had the pork belly ramen noodle dish. It was terrible. The noodles were mushy and the broth was salty with no flavor. Honestly, the noodles had the texture of cheap $.25 over cooked and mushy instant ramen noodles. Good ramen is bouncy not mushy. My son had the steak. It was over cooked and dry. He said it was over soy sauced. He ate 2 bites then stopped eating. Waited quite long before the waiter came to take our order. Took even longer to get our food and waited 30 minutes to get our check after we told him we were ready to leave. We were there 2 hours. What a waste of time.

Not a sushi girl. Went out of my comfort zone and ordered the Crate-afornia. It was amazingly delicious. Textures were perfect. Definitely ordering this again. I'm even willing to try a different one!

Crate is wonderful, from the moment we came in our waiter Elijah was very attentive and accomodating on some special requests.
The entrees were great and the drinks are creative.
The entire place is a trip to NYC !
We highly recommend it.

First time dining and we're will definitely be back! The food was delicious and came out promptly. Very cool atmosphere with excellent music. Our server Bennett was amazing! Offered great suggestions and explained the menus well. He also was the appropriate amount of entertaining without being overbearing.

Avoid at all costs. It looks okay but I've eaten from here twice and both times it’s been awful. First time the food was ok but the service absolutely sucked. Second time I wanted some sushi and ordered it through door dash. Payed 20 something dollars before delivery for 2 pieces of sashimi that not even my dog would eat. Called to complain to door dash said I should take it up with the restaurant, tried calling the restaurant and the woman I spoke to was rude and abrasive and essentially told me to kick rock. If you want sushi get it from the grocery store or make it yourself but don’t get it from here.

Update 7/19/24
So I decided to come back here and see if it got any better. Not much! The waiter told us there would be 12 pieces to the Dish and there was only six. The sushi roll was dry as a bone and the waiter had also forgotten my request for spicy mayo.T he tuna was warm and tasted overly fishing for sushi. The AHI tuna, the white tuna, and the salmon was OK. The sushi rolls were put together very poorly, unstable, uneven, and very small. None of the pieces from the roll were even close to the same size as the next one. Cut very unevenly. All the sushi fell apart upon picking it up. The rice and wasabi’s were pretty good.

The red snapper was so over cooked it was like a piece of leather. Our first sushi roll was good but contained very little fish. Our second roll has a stand of black hair on it. They brought out a third one that was so small and salty that we had to pick out the little tiny bits of food from the inside just to get a bit of food in our stomach. They charged us for all the bad food that was served. Service was pleasant.

Food was truly terrible. The crab cakes were 99% bread. The lobster bisque was cold and tasted off. The brussel sprouts had a tang that was also off, and I could not place it. It was definitely not lemon. As for service, the poor servers must have been short staffed. Not worth the $70 we paid for drinks and 4 appetizers.

Our entire bachelorette party was super excited for this restaurant before a night out. We were highly disappointed. I’d recommend to pick somewhere else. When we arrived they were out of some of the dishes we specifically were excited for. Then we ordered drinks which were subpar, and appetizers. When 3 out of the 5 of us received our appetizers after an hour of being at the restaurant, the other 2 people were informed that their appetizers were out of stock and asked if they wanted something else, with no apology. After being at the restaurant for about an hour and 30 minutes, still with no entree, the waiter popped by to say they were almost ready. We FINALLY received our food after being at the restaurant for about 2 hours. The food was so so with dry sushi rice, chewy steak and pork loin, decent taste but felt old and like it had been sitting for a while. We asked to speak with a manager and we were informed that no manager was available. When we expressed our frustration with the lack of service and food, we asked for some sort of compensation and the waiter, still without an apology, offered 10% off. When we got the bill he only gave us 10% off our main entrees which equaled about 2$ a person on bills that were anywhere between 40$ and 100$. When we questioned this he said, and I quote “DO YOU REQUIRE MORE”. At this point we paid and left. This restaurant is a HARD PASS!

Before you call me a karen, this restaurant had 3 servers and a bartender with 6 tables of people…so they were not busy enough to justify this type of service.

After doing some research, I was excited to try this restaurant with my friends this weekend but was highly disappointed.

Summary: We arrived at 7pm, received our appetizers around 8pm, and finally got our food at 8:50pm. The restaurant was not busy (6 tables including ours/ with 3 servers that I could count and a bartender ). Our server was indifferent and rude when we discussed our dissatisfaction with our service. Food was mediocre.

Detailed summary: We were informed upon ordering that the restaurant had run out of mussels, and the seafood medley. We were slightly disappointed but we were fine with that. After everyone received our appetizers, our server informed one person that the restaurant was also out of edamame. We understood that the lack of food was not our server’s fault, but we did not appreciate the lack of attention he had towards our table/order. Finally, after waiting for our main entrees for almost TWO hours, I asked our server if i could speak to the manager. He said there was no manager and asked what was wrong. He was very dismissive and acted like I was an anomaly to have had a problem with waiting so long in a fairly empty restaurant. He stated that the restaurant is very busy and the rolls are handmade, so of course we would have to wait. He asked what I would need and I asked for any kind of compensation for our time. He ended up giving us 10% off main entrees (about two dollars off per person-for bills between 35 and 115 dollars). When we questioned this, he asked “do you required more?” Personally, I feel that the waiter did not know how to communicate with us in a way that made us feel heard or understood. We left feeling quite upset and to top that off, the food was not good after the wait. The pork and beef for the sushi were dry, the fingerlings for the whitefish was probably one baby potato cut in thirds, the rice in the sushi was dry, but the overall flavor of the food was good.

If you choose this place, I hope you have a better experience! I would not recommend it though.
