Highly recommend bringing a dog to the patio for drink and a hang. They were so kind and had a bowl for water and brought out milkbone treats for our pups to enjoy and relax! Great atmosphere and friendly staff!

This is the second time I’ve been to the Cannery and have been told after walking in that it is closed for a private event. No signage posted. I had already experienced two very disappointing situations in Sun Prairie right before this, and I feel that communication is very lacking for establishments that rely on foot traffic. There is a large outdoor area that could be offered to the public during these events.

We have had 2 co-ed baby showers here and they have been great! Renting for a private party is way reasonable and then we do a cash bar. Guimos is across the street for catering too. It makes even planning really easy! We had Nancy as our bar tender, and she was amazing! She was so hands on, checking our food, help set up, and always being proactive and jumping in to offer assistance. Highly recommend!!

Went there for an anniversary. Place was rented for the afternoon. Nice place.nice atmosphere ,good selections of bourbon. No Makers?Drinks were a little pricey.

Talk about a slew of beverages to taste. 100's of Whiskeys: Bourbon, Scotch, Irish, etc. a good selection of beer but only a handful of wines. A pleasant surprise was a 3 or 4 tasting flight of tawny port.

Maybe this place is impressive for the locals who have never ventured into Madison… it’s laughably mediocre and pedestrian for anyone who has experienced real service or a real tasting room.Do you enjoy going to bars that refuse to carry your favorite liquor because they only carry the owner’s favorite, based on his cheap purchase price and not quality?And when you drink fine spirits, do you prefer them served in plastic while you’re sitting on a “barstool” that’s really cheap metal outdoor furniture? In a bar in which the largest visible feature is a restaurant-sized four compartment sink piled up with dirty dishes, when every other bar in the world keeps that out of the public eye?Me neither. The Cannery is the product of the most common rookie mistake in the industry: a privileged prick with no service industry experience, humility, or self-awareness opened the bar that his unique tastes would support, without caring what actual guests want.FUN FACT: The Cannery pays its staff MONTHLY, including tips… and they hide this from employees until after they are hired. Every other bar in the world pays weekly or the same night, but the owner at the Cannery is so cheap that he refuses to issue payroll checks more often. So no one worth a damn will work for him as more than a side gig, and turnover is ridiculous. So NO ONE behind the bar can actually guide you through a tasting experience at this “tasting room”.

Good wine by the glass options, huge bourbon selection, friendly staff.

What a great spot. A real hidden gem in Sun Prairie. A great and friendly staff and an attentive owner who hopes to have 1000 bottles behind his bar to better serve his customers.

Nice, cozy spot to enjoy a night out with friends or a loved one. They have a great variety of drinks and a few choices for food, including pizza and a big warm pretzel (which was yummy. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Great vibe overall here!
