Kenny had wonderful sushi. Unfortunately I stopped in Sunday, July 25 and the business is closed and the building is for lease. It's a real shame.

That was some amazing sushi. My wife and I grabbed some of our favorites to try out to compare to past experiences and I absolutely did not expect it to come out this great. The place seems like a work-in-progress but I am glad they are doing what they're doing. We will most certainly be returning.

The suishi was soggy and fell apart when I tried to eat it. The crab salad tasted like someone just defrosted it. I could taste bits of ice in it. For the amount of money I spent, I expected better quality.

Authentic food but customer service is bad. I asked for veggie sushi and it came with shrimp. I was told to wait for 30 minutes and when get there waited an extra 30. I complained about the shrimp when I got home and the person on the phone refused to listen by saying no one complain before. I told I wasn't complaining about the food but the information given by the person who answered the phone and said tempura was made of sweet potato and there wasn't meat or sea food and guaranteed it was a veggie sushi. The guy whom I complained with told me to drive back in person again and complain directly with the manager to see if he could fix my meal. Conversation on the phone took like three minutes and he refused to understand my complain. I have never seen a service as bad as this restaurant.

Ordered for pickup. All the food was cold by the time I arrived there, and my drink was missing. There are only 5 pieces for a sushi roll, not 6 (I was told by the owner). In terms of flavor, I feel like I could get the same thing at a grocery store; doesn't measure up to restaurant quality. The shrimp tempura & fried rice were alright, just slightly greasy on the tempura. The tempura & rice is actually a kids meal and I was okay with it. Decently portioned imo and I'm an adult! Weird to think I'd recommend the kids meal before anything else.I tried this place because of the ⭐⭐⭐⭐ reviews. However, based on my experience, I wouldn't put it that way.

Man, I really wish I could give more stars, but oye. The first time there I had no issues food was good. Great experience. However, I went there to place an order with my sister and there were two other people up at the bar area doing saki bombs. We were told no dine in. We were like okay no problem we will just place an order. They said sure absolutely no problem. We got our menus and she said I'll be back to take your order 15 minutes pass nothing, 20 minutes still nothing.Orders were coming in via the phone, but in house nothing. They were more involved with the 2 people doing saki bombs to take our order. The gentlemen who I assume was the chef, was talking having a good time with them telling stories etc. They left with their order and we STILL received zero service. I went to counter to try and place order and was told to wait. At this point it had been 30 minutes so we left.I like to support local businesses, but man I can't support if I get zero service.

First time trying this place. We ordered delivery and while the sushi was really good, it was only 5 pieces. The downside was the hibachi; we tried the steak and chicken dinner, which is not cheap, fried rice was good, soup bland but Ok, but the meat, both of them, were really hard to eat. Steak was bad, chewy, very little flavor. My daughters had the chicken so I didn't try it, but they were constantly pulling chicken pieces apart because they were hard and they weren't able to eat them... For the almost $19 each of the plates cost, meat should be better.

This is the BEST sushi in the Madison area. Better than Red, better than Muramoto (both great in their own right ); it’s that good. The locale isn’t upscale, but the sushi is fantastic. The Sweetheart Roll is perhaps the crown jewel, but I haven’t had a bad roll in all my times frequenting Sakura. The owner, a very kind gentleman, is there every single day and usually rolls the sushi himself. Because it is a small family owned restaurant, dine in isn’t a quick in and out experience, but the service is great and the food is worth the wait. During COVID they have pivoted to take out, and the quality has remained fantastic. A great locally owned business, right in the heart of downtown Sun Prairie.

Shout out to Sakura Shiten sushi for another outstanding dinner! Had the sky beauty roll and Sun Prairie roll. The pork Gyoza is amazing! Huge portions and super fresh seafood. So glad there’s a delicious sushi place in SP! Super friendly staff who go above and beyond to make sure you are happy. Check them out!

Great sushi at a great price. Order didn’t take long and staff was very friendly and gave us a free sample of their featured role. Took our take out to cannery square for a picnic. I’ll be telling my friends!

This little corner restaurant has gone through so many changes since I moved to Sun Prairie a few years ago. I am hoping the folks at Sakura will be here permanently! The food is delicious and quality. Everyone is always so courteous when I stop in. I've been ordering a lot of takeout from them and the association with eatstreet makes it really easy. Plus, he always put a little free extra something in the orders, not necessary yet so nice!

My husband and I tried this for the first time and both deluxe rolls we got were delicious! We grabbed them for take out and they had provided what I think were fried sweet potato pieces (which were also delicious). The staff was also incredibly kind! We will definitely be regulars.
