Simple restaurant and bar attached to a hotel. Beautiful charcuterie board. Interesting local beers. Wine list is only ok. Great filet and sides. Good desserts. Paulina was our server and was just excellent.
We were regular customers. Steak quality dropped. Waitress Paulina didn't check back after food brought. No steak knives with steak. Only butter knives. Bartender was approached about bad service. She gave us desert free 15 minutes later. My coke ordered wasn't brought back until I reminded waitress after she was talked to and came back with desert. I felt like the wait for desert was to punish us. Bill was $132 including tax. We didn't tip. We usually tip 20-30 %. Our card was debited $152. We reported the theft to our bank. I emailed chop house corporate the bad experience. No response yet. That was a week ago. It's too bad. Chop House in superior WI was our favorite in twin ports. They said that they had staff turn over from bartender. We'll, it hurt them. We ate their once a month!
The server was very nice and attentive. However the food was meh especially for the price. The risotto and Brussels sprouts were very bland. My steak was fine. Scallops were not finished because of the sand in the scallops themselves.
What an absolute buzzkill. This was the worst meal and service I have ever had from a high end restaurant establishment. I was staying in Superior for my Bachelorette weekend and saw the menu at this place and was SO excited to visit, but boy what a disappointment.
There was six gals who had dinner here and one person enjoyed her meal (she got a Caesar salad). We are non drinkers, so I asked if they had "mocktails", to which the waitress said - "yeah they are on the menu." They offer two n/a beers - instead maybe suggest a sparkling lemonade, or another beverage with the flavorings you offer for signature cocktails (peach puree/huckleberry syrups) minus the booze. She didn't even let us know if they had Coke or Pepsi products.
Three of us started with soup, which took 20 minutes to get. The lobster bisque was served lukewarm at best - and while the French onion soup was served hot, it was flavorless.
For our meal we were upsold on the steaks, as the waitress explained the 5 oz petite filet couldn't be cooked properly to ensure a medium rare finish - to which two gals switched to the 10 oz and regretted. We also ordered the sides to share for the table (asparagus/brussels/bacon truffle mac & cheese/truffle fries). The only hit for our entire meal WAS the truffle fries - they were wonderful. But when they say "parmesan crusted" Brussels Sprouts - they mean fake parmesan sprinkled on top. One of the gals had to send her meal of the regular truffle mac and cheese back to the kitchen because of the tepid temperature. I am usually one of "those people" who loves to take photos of my meals, and with the lackluster appearance of everything - I didn't want to share this meal with anyone.
The waitress seemed very frazzled and rushed the entire time - and they weren't busy, the restaurant was actually quite empty... we were one of maybe five tables. Our water glasses were empty the majority of time. When we received our bills the waitress then engaged with our table and asked if we were out celebrating anything... two hours too late. Yes it took 2 hours from the time we sat down, until the time we left. We had other activities on our docket for the evening so were frustrated with the amount of time we spent waiting. To top it off - one of the guests was overcharged. We reached out to the restaurant to inquire about the issue - and after leaving a voicemail we have yet to receive a call back with an explanation.

Probably one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a restaurant. The service was awful and the food wasn’t great. I was served cold mac and cheese and when I asked to heat it up the server seemed like it was an inconvenience and it was brought back still cold. We had empty glasses all night. I could literally write paragraphs. I was also over-charged because the server wrote in a bigger tip for herself than I left. I tried calling and emailing about it, but still have not been reached out too. Never have I ever had this happen to me. Make sure you check your bank statements!

Food was amazing! We started with fried green tomatoes and fried goat cheese… oh my goodness the goat cheese was great!! For our meals we split the burger, NY strip and blue cheese risotto.. blue cheese risotto stole the show! For dessert we got the raspberry tiramisu which was totally different than we expected but delicious.

We absolutely love this place! Sarah is a great bartender and we are always happy to see her. The wagu beef was top notch compared to other places in the country I’ve had this. Everything was perfect.

The food taste like nothing here and not only that it’s very overpriced. The setting is dark. The food is bland and overall there’s no reason to come here.

Got the 10 oz Filet and was not impressed, at all. The garlic whipped potato’s and Caesar salad were equally disappointing. We brought it to the attention of our server and she brought it back to the chef and told us the chef said that is how it’s supposed to taste. Maybe some like it but all of our food (group of 6) had the similar taste, it was like a chemical or propane taste. I will not be returning. Silver Creek Chop House in Two Harbors is a little more expensive but far, far, better. Not even in the same class.

The only thing I downgrade on is it was very dark. The blue cheese risotto was amazing (we ordered that instead of getting bleu cheese on the steak). There was only one server for the entire restaurant which seemed odd.
I really thought the space was lovely and the service was fantastic. Unfortunately the food did not match that level of success. My husband's fillet had a nice color/sear but my new york strip was very pale with very little sear. Both steaks were only seared on one side and were REALLY under seasoned. We had to ask for salt. The mashed potatoes with chives were also pretty bland and were very light on the cream and butter. The truffle bacon mac and cheese was the highlight of the evening and tasted great. I wish all the dishes were that well seasoned!

All of the food had an odd "smoke" flavor that did not go well with the food, it actually tasted like plastic. We did not eat much and took the left overs home to see if we were the only ones that thought it tasted like plastic, and they agreed
Our favorite part of the meal was the steak, which was good. They were cooed to our preference, and the enhancements were good. I had the wild mushroom medley and blue cheese. Could have been better seasoned.Unfortunately everything else we ordered was a bit disappointing. We tried the bone marrow appetizer as neither of us have tried bone marrow before. It was completely flavorless/unseasoned. Even a little salt would have made the flavor better. The chimichurri was good. Our sides for two were also disappointing. Again- no seasoning whatsoever. We had the parmesan crusted brussels sprouts and the grilled asparagus. Both were served cold and had a burnt/ chemical taste to them. When we asked our server about that, she mentioned that the mashed potatoes also usually had that flavor, which seemed like a weird response. The aftertaste on both was terrible and neither of us had more than a few bites of either side. Overall opinion on the food- all of it was very under-seasoned and served room-temp/cold even though we were only 1 of two parties in the restaurant at the time.Definitely would not return for the quality of the food we received for the price that we paid.
