“We are here at least once a month. Everyone is so friendly. They remember us and what we order. It is amazing. Today we had my granddaughters 2nd birthday lunch here since she has been coming since she was a newborn. They let us bring balloons and decorations.They go above and beyond. They spend time with the kids and actually seem to enjoy it. If they were not over an hour away we would be here weekly at least.”

“I recently moved to superior wi, from mn, it was a 7 mile move, anyway I'm no stranger to this town, and the place bar is 2 blocks away, I can tell you that the bartender, I forgot his name, a young lad and is very polite and on the weekends this place is hoping with a younger crowd, I love the penny slots, keep what you win and lose what you lose.”

“Want to give a shout out to the awesome staff at this location. My wife noticed there was non-dairy cheese option available to order. I haven’t eaten pizza out for over ten years because I ended up developing a dairy allergy (not lactose intolerance) along with eggs. So I called and asked a few questions which the staff were very polite. Then I went in to order a few pizzas and decided to try a pizza with the dairy-free cheese. The staff made it in a separate area to lower the possibility of cross contamination and then wrapped it. It was awesome being able to partake in a meal again with my family. When you have food allergies you can feel like a third wheel, or get tired of having to ask questions and feel like you’re making an ordeal. We will definitely try this again, and the higher up executives who decided to try this route thank you. Only criticism is maybe a secondary station would be a good idea for the non-dairy pizza in case someone has allergies to actual cheese products or maybe even vegan. Anyways great idea and I hope this continues.”

“It's a great bar and grill with great food, plenty of beers to choose from and a big menu. We stopped in on a Sunday evening about 7 pm and were welcomed and seated right away. Food came quickly and Todd, the owner, came to check on us several times to see if he could get us anything. We love these small town bar and grills and this one is exceptional! Very clean and well managed. Highly recommend!”

Goes a long way. I also like that the bartenders and regular customers seem to get along more like a family then just some body serving another person a drink kind of thing.”

“The three young guys working were awesome! (Evening of March 22nd, 2026) Greeted us right away, kind, and made us feel so welcomed! When we asked about their favorite subs, they shared with their reasons. It was refreshing to have employees that were engaged with the costumers! Nice workers that are comfortable with their costumers, good food, prepped well, makes people want to return! We definitely will when in the area!! Good job guys!!

“Old school charm! Cheap drinks and fabulous ambiance for a dive bar. The help was super friendly. Was here years ago for youth hockey tournaments and it's even better than I remember. A block off then main drag is a short distance to walk for this diamond in the rough.”

They're nurturing when you need them to be, they're sarcastic when you need them to be, they're your best friends but also super fair. “The best Chicken Caesar Salad I’ve ever had! Period. End of story. (except please keep reading) I’m so happy I got to talk to the mastermind behind this dish (Brandon knows what he is doing!!!), because I wouldn’t normally order this salad. I usually find Caesar salads to be bland and boring. Not this one! Smoked bacon (made in house), croutons (made in house), plus a Caesar dressing that compliments instead of overpowering the salad - yes, again made in house. Then Brandon explained how he makes the chips in house (I won’t try to explain it, because I won’t do it justice), but just know that it is like a chip and a waffle fry had a baby, and these chips are the wonderful, delicious outcome ~ light, but flavorful! A must order!!! The cherry on top was the great service. Cathy was a fabulous bartender and server! She was welcoming from the moment I sat down, and was attentive, without being overbearing. She also made great cocktails! Overall, The Shack was a wonderful experience, and I look forward to coming back on a weekly bases while in town for work. They apparently had a rough go during Covid, but Brandon (& others) have been working tirelessly to improve things, and I’m definitely impressed! I recommend you give them a try as well!”

Prices at ALL Subways are a bit much these days... 35 bucks for two ppl. Just sandwiches, no extra toppings costs. But what's a girl to do 🤷🏼‍♂️
My meatball sub was toasted but it was not toasted very well. Some of the lettuce had to be picked off.
Otherwise, it was a delicious and stress free lunch. Will return.

“We ordered take out and had the Mongolian Beef mild and Happy Couple, very bland, no flavor, rice was crunchy, beef was like rubber and you could not chew it. Gave the beef to our dog. Also had cream cheese wontons. They left out the sweet and sour sauce. About 2 hours after we ate, we had severe stomach pains. Won't order or eat from there again. Very disappointing. We never had any issues when it was China Inn. ☹”

“Their emoloyees are top notch at customer service - if you have a choice which Dunkin to go to in the area - go to this one. They are super patient with people who have special orders, they almost always get the order right & are happy to fix any rare mistakes, and most importantly - they are incredibly nice and are never snotty. There is another Dunkin around here and a decent amount of the employees act life they hate life and you are greatly inconveniencing them by having the audacity to visit their establishment. 🤣 You'll never have that kind of experience at this Dunkin!”
