“This is a great little gem of a place, nothing fancy but the food was terrific so was the service and the cocktails. We walked in on a Friday night about 7 pm place was pretty full. Waiter said right away the wait time for food was a hour. He put a couple of tables together for us cause we said it was fine there were 6 of us. The waiter was attentive to our needs kept drinks full and water too! Overall I don't think anyone had anything bad food wise or other! ,”
“I'd only ever had drinks from magnolia Cafe. I'd never actually been inside until this past Monday the 19th. It is like someone took a regular house and made it into a coffee shop. There's many different rooms of tables and narrow hallways in between them. The atmosphere is very warm and comforting. The woman who I assume is the owner at the front counter was incredibly kind to my kids and my family. They had plenty of board games and stuff in a large stack by the tables for people to play for free. It honestly felt like you were sitting in someone's kitchen having a cup of coffee with them. It did not feel like a restaurant at all. This isn't a good way. The only complaint that I have and with how nice these people were. I hate to have any complaints but my wife got a decaf caramel latte that tasted as if it was burnt and had sort of a bitter pharmaceutical aftertaste to it. I got. I think what they call a 'Valentine's Love mocha.' It was supposed to be cherry dark chocolate mocha. It was pretty good until I got about 3/4 of the way through it and then at the bottom I had grounds that felt like grains of sand. On the counter hand, they did have excellent cookies pie and my all-time favorite scotcheroos. These scotcheroos are so good. They will make you melt into your seat. If she has a batch ready when you get there, do yourself a huge favor and try one. Overall, I think that I would go back, but I don't think I would order coffee again. Maybe tea juice or some other decaffeinated beverage. Otherwise this place is very charming. Quaint, warm and inviting. They are fantastic with kids!Parking: Parking was absolutely plentiful. As long as you don't mind parking on half paved half gravel parking lot then parking is fantastic.Kid-friendliness: The woman at the front counter when we were there, and I wish I could remember. Her name, was very friendly to my wife and kids. She not only greeted us when we came in the door but also greeted my kids and asked them how they were. When my kids started to get bored, she suggested some board games that they absolutely loved. For reference my kids are too and six. Very kid friendly place.”
“Stopped here for a break on the way to Ely. It was during lunch hour and the parking lot was full, but there was still room to park. The service quick and efficient. We just had a beverage having eaten earlier. This is a sports bar with lots of TVs, pool tables and darts ?”
“I did not stay here. My family and I ate at the buffet here Thursday evening for crab legs. Definitely use the open table app for a reservation if you want to eat at 3 when they open, reservations become available at 2pm. You really don't need to get there that early though. It wasn't packed and they keep bringing out more crab legs, no need to rush and stack your plate high as some people did. Our servers were great. Soft drinks, milk and chocolate milk are included in the price. Everything was fresh and hot. The prime rib was perfection.”

Tonight I had their catch of the day which was the honey hot salmon - cooked to perfection with a delicious glaze of hot honey to spice it up. “A cute, clean and fun country local pub with great people, bands and FABULOUS FOOD. Good specials. The best wings I have ever had and that is saying something. Philly Cheesesteak with au jus is hubby's favorite. Super good homemade pizza and lots more. You will not be disappointed in the food or the service.”
“What a hidden gem!! Pulled into the parking lot on a Thursday mid afternoon on our way to Giants Ridge. Lots of cars, good sign!! Went to the bar side and started with a Bloody Mary that was delicious with beef stick, olive and pickle. Got the 1/2 rack rib special that was fall off the bone fabulous! Also got the Lois, which was a hot beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and beef gravy, it too was very tasty!! Staff was very friendly!! Will definitely be back when we are up this way again!!”

“This place is. Must stop when in Cloquet, this has got to be one of the coolest old bars around. The Fitgers memorabilia is amazing and the atmosphere of this very nicely restored building is fitting to its era. I have driven by this place so many times over the years, I kick myself now for not stopping sooner. The owners enjoy giving you the history of this amazing building. You have to stop and at least grab a drink if passing through Cloquet, MN. I assure you, you will be glad you did!”
“This is a must stop pizza place either heading to, or coming from Duluth, or stopping in Cloquet! This pizza was so good I almost forgot to take a photo of it, hence the missing pieces. This pizza was loaded with fresh toppings and the crust was crisp and fresh, even the middle pieces had a crunch! I highly recommend. 10/10 This was the Full House Pizza: Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, Beef, Breakfast Bacon, Canadian Bacon, Green Peppers, Onions, Black and Green Olives, Mushrooms, Cheddar Cheese”
“They aren’t open very often but Byron and Caroline are very friendly. Breakfast is delicious and super good prices! They also have an assortment of homemade jams, honey, and syrup you can by inside they restaurant. Great small town feel and hospitality. The kids love it.”
“This is real BBQ, folks. A must stop in Cloquet. Things are brand new here, so I expect this place to evolve and progress over time. I'm looking forward to visiting many more times in the future!”
“The enviroment at this establishment is fairly welcoming! After meeting with the owners--whom are very respectable-- I would highly recommend coming here to meet with this family owned eatery. The food here is phenomenal especially their chicken and waffles If I had had to rate this food I would give this a 9/10 the flavor combination is delicious and is unique! After tasting the burger and cheese curds I almost went to cloud 9! I would rate the cheese curds a 8.6/10 and the burger a 6/10. If I would rate this place I would have to say 10/10 highly recommend and I would come again!Kid-friendliness: The kiddos are welcomed!”
“Perkins every day place, fare food and a fair price. Get what you expect year after year. The strawberry cream crisps are Delicious!Kid-friendliness: They have menus for kids to color”
“Shoutout to Chad (I think that's his name) for calling to double check my order. I must've misclicked something and he made sure to call me and double check. Shoutout to you, bud!(He was working on 11/15/2020 if I have the wrong name).”
“WOWWWW!!! The chicken tendyyyssss are my favvvv!!! And that gravyyyyy ohhhmaaaagawdddd i wish I could fill a whole bathtub with the gravy and just soak in it with a rubber ducky!! I was amazed to find out that the name Dairy Queen ? was not created after the owners wife who made great ice cream but a cow ? I mean it makes more sense to me now but I just wanted to hear some type of love story that the creator John F. McCullough had the baddest wife that was in the kitchen whippin up the most bussin ice cream sundays and blizzards!!! But I did someResearch and that was not the case, McCullough and his son developed a formula for soft-serve ice cream in 1938. he viewed the cow as the “queen of the dairy industry so he just named it “Dairy Queen” and now it’s 2023 and I’m still he enjoying this great establishment that was made in the 1940s! It’s crazy that you can create something and it will be here long after your gone just makes you think some times ya know !! But anyways I need to wash my hands I got hot sauce all over my hands n my phone screens all messy now from writing this, but like I allways say at this time, thank you mr.Dairy Queen ?Sincerely,JB? mmmmm scrumptious”
“Nice spot by the river. A few pool tables and good sized dining area inside. Loaded cheese curds with bacon and jalapeños and well seasoned fries. Chicken wild rice is heavy with rice (it's good).”
“Honestly, it's usually pretty good. Sandwiches could be a little neater. Service is pretty good, but they could be a bit more personable. You kind of feel like a burden sometimes. I'd say a solid 7 or 8/10 most times.Vegetarian options: There's a good range of options for the veggie delite and salad selection.Dietary restrictions: Lpts of options, super customizable.Parking: Easy to park and accesible.”
“Visiting this area for first time, a good friend recommended Streetcar who is from Saginaw. I had the pan fried Walleye and it was delicious. Cooked perfectly, not greasy and spiced really well. It comes with lemon wedge and a delicious tartar sauce. The sides were sweet potato fries and sautéed vegetables, both were very good. I paired fish with Galatic slap IPA. Excellent choice. My friend had Walleye fish tacos he said were excellent. The fried cheese appetizer was also really good, served with a side of marinera sauce. Parking lot is small, but plenty of parking off-site.”
