Everything is the same and that's a good thing! I can sit in those same red booths or stools that I sat in as a small child. Ladies used to put their purses on the little shelf under the counter while they ate back then. I loved their malts and burgers or pies with ice cream as a child and still do now at 68 years old! This is where I can look around and reminisce on those good old days when my dad and I used to stop in for lunch. Now my oldest son takes me there for breakfast! We love going there for breakfast, but any time is good! They usually take care to keep the coffee coming and are sure to make their way around to all their customers. Hats off to the current owner for knowing their customers loved it as it was back when they were kids. Back then, farmers had dinner as the noon meal, which is why I put yes under dinner below as, for us, the evening meal is called Supper. There are photos on the walls to document this! Welcome to Thorp! You might want to browse in the local stores. We always liked the Rustic Resale in the old Farmer's Store building nearby. I think the Liquidators is still there in the old Coast to Coast store building.

This place is everything that a Classic American Town cafe should be!My party and I were treated to House Battered Cheese Curds compliments of the Owner! (One of the members of my party doesn't like cheese.) Family run, generous portions with clean and honest flavors.Hamburgers looked delicious and perfectly cooked. My Grilled Chicken Sandwich was tender (not overcooked!!), Had the perfect amount of seasoning and didn't disappoint. Fries have a crispy coating on them - my favorite type of fries. I'm not sure you could pick a bad item, though. From the moment we sat down until we left, we were showered with genuine hospitality. When we left, I knew I had found one of the best kept secrets slightly off 29.Thank you to all the staff that keep The Dairy Bar Cafe a must for me whenever I'm near Thorpe.

We were passing through and had lunch at this gem of Americana......it’s worth a stop! The restaurant is a refreshing step back in time and both the service and food were great. Well worth going a bit out of your way to experience. Give it a shot.....you’ll be happy you did!

This place definitely has that small town diner feel to it that pairs well with the country style breakfast.

Good burger and fries. Sort of a dive cafe.

So I wandered in here on Saturday the 13th for the first time ever. I was in town to look for a home and had to meet my agent in town.
