Small town café with big hospitality. Menu items were plentiful. Food was good. Called ahead to be sure they were open, we were told they were very busy but she would reserve a table for us. This was greatly appreciated as we were traveling through and on a timeline. Very friendly waitstaff.

Service, okay. Breakfast disappointment. Why do cafes fail every time on cooking something so simple as eggs? Hash browns were raw. Browing the top, flip, and serve does not work. You need to cook them longer! Regarding atmosphere, a little cleaning goes a long way.

Small and quaint little place. Definitely gives off a friendly and family vibe and atmosphere. Service was fast and the food was delicious! Was surprised to see that they have a Full English on the breakfast menu. Food was delivered fast, large portions, and everyone seemed happy to be there. Will definitely come back again!

In the past River Cafe was a very good place to go but recently, it has gone down hill. They are no longer a dependable place to choose as they willy nilly change their hours and don't post them on their webpage. Hence, causing people to show up and be told they are closed. Not sure who is running the place now but service has dropped also. We used to frequent the restaurant but they have become undependable and I will now choose other places, who are more dependable and offer comparable food and services. It’s really a shame because I like to promote small business but dependability is a must and posting your hours of operation on your webpage should be considered, so that your potential customers don’t make wasted trips. Posting a closing sign on your door after you’ve closed doesn't notify your customers ahead of time. Everyone understands that things come up and emergencies can happen but be professional and make sure your customers know. So with that being said River Cafe has now lost my business, but apparently they don't need the business. This isn't a one time incident, it happens quite frequently. I’ve stopped on several occasions only to find the place closed down on days when they should be opened according to their website.
