Hotel Fortney is an absolute gem of a hotel. Between the historical motifs sprinkled around to the staff service to the care and attention to detail, everything about this place is phenomenal. We had the chance to dine at Nobel Rind, the front desk staff gave WONDERFUL recommendations for tourism spots and places to experience the best of Viroqua, and the amenities available on site make it an incredibly accessible space for all ranges of experiences. Will be recommending this hotel to everyone we know!

Quite truly the best hotel I have stayed at. Our room was spacious and beautiful, and had a lot of unexpected luxury comforts (heated bathroom floor, dimmable light, TV that connects to streaming services, rain shower head, a guest lounge with ample fridge space, etc.) The staff were all very polite, and the building is within walkable distance from a ton of shops, cafes, restaurants, and other fun places to window shop.
Highly recommend. We will absolutely be coming back to Fortney. <3

Everyone at Hotel Fortney (and in Viroqua) was so nice and welcoming! This was a wonderfully relaxing space for our mini-moon, and we hope to be back again. The only reason I marked the rooms 4/5 is because I would have loved to have had bathrobes, that plus the heated floors in the bathroom would have taken it over the top. Overall a really clean, comfortable stay that we will recommend to anyone looking for a getaway to the driftless.

Very pleasurable one night stay, within walking distance of shops, restaurants, museum, and hospital. We had a room facing Main Street but you couldn't hear any of the traffic. Comfortable bed, heated bathroom floor, lovely remodel, and brewed coffee and teas anytime. And you can see the extent of their remodel work in the framed photos in the hallways.

Stayed 1 night at this lovely restored hotel from late 1800s. Fabulous rooms, very nice bar and delicious breakfast served in the morning. Owners of hotel are on site and very personal along with the staff being very friendly and personable. Bed was very comfortable and it was very nice to have space in guest kitchen for your leftovers. We stayed in room 301. Even the bathroom as heated floors and nice walk in shower They also have a separate laundry room with iron and ironing board. Also have a steamer in case you need to steam the wrinkle out of your outfit for the day. Will definitely come back at this hotel next time we’re in this area. If you decide to stay you will not be disappointed and nice supporting a small business.

The double-paned windows really help to muffle the sounds of the street traffic. The bathroom had a heated floor, a huge double sink, and plenty of room for two people to get ready for their day in Viroqua. Everything about this hotel is top-notch. The details are just so well done. Check in was easy, and Brad gave us great tips on things to do. On the third floor, there is a gorgeous common area where you can store your refrigerated items, grab a cup of coffee, and enjoy the bird's eye view of the surrounding landscape. Seriously, stay here.
