Tim and Connie are the greatest of hosts! Their food is nothing like you will have outside a big city. And when they are done with service they sat down with everyone and chatted getting to know all the patrons. More like going to a friend's house who cooks gourmet meals than a restaurant or bar.

Went for my mom’s birthday. Not your typical restaurant, but that’s what makes it special. Food was great, service was excellent and the place has a neat feel to it. Plan on 3 hours for the meal but it’s worth it.

Very cozy place. Seating is by reservation, so call ahead. The owners greet everyone as they arrive and have snacks set up in the common area. Some of the final food prep is done in the dining room. The food is fantastic and covers multiple courses. Be prepared for a little story telling after dining. It is a very interactive experience.

An absolutely gem! Incredible food, beautiful vibe/atmosphere, and some of the kindest people I have ever met. Definitely a unique experience and something I wasn’t anticipating from a northern woods location. Highly recommend, even if you are not in the area it’s worth a trip!

Tim & Connie prepared a fantastic carry-out meal again tonight. It had a SE Asian theme and we only made it through the first five selections. Tomorrow we'll be eating well during the Packer game to finish up Korean BBQ ribs. My Shu Pork and Pancakes with Silk Road Tea Syrup. Such generous portions & kind souls who prepare the weekly Saturday night feasts.
The Big Easel was strongly recommended by friends. To date, we have enjoyed 2 of their Saturday Heat and Eat dinners this summer, devised for these pandemic times. Coincidentally, both of the meals were of a barbecue theme, both of which were excellent and distinct. This past Friday, Tim and Connie catered our wedding and did a spectacular job. They worked with us to create a truly memorable meal, with wines paired for each course. All was perfection and included scallops, salmon, wagyu beef as well as tenderloin, and the best carrot cake we have ever eaten! We will be back as often as we can manage it. The Big Easel is truly a destination restaurant.

This place truly knows how to handle a pandemic! They are offering DELICIOUS multi-course dinners every Saturday night via curbside delivery and touch-less payment. Our meal last weekend included delicious tomato basil soup, Swedish meatballs and collcannon, excellent pork tenderloin with cherry sauce, pasta with mushrooms, glazed carrots and several desserts, including bacon maple peanut brittle. On top of that, they had included a little surprise - quiche for breakfast the next day! We literally had 3 huge meals from all the food. We’ve never eaten there before but definitely look forward to visiting their adorable garden seating when circumstances allow! What a wonderful addition to the northwoods!
