Literally the best food in Door County!! If you're thinking of going to Washington Island, do it just for a visit to the Albatross Drive-In alone! Everything we ordered (cheeseburger, cowboy burger, fried pickles and fries) was prepared, seasoned and cooked to perfection! The staff was friendly and fun spirited, the outdoor eating area was clean and inviting. Overall great experience and our favorite stop during our vacation.

I love this place. I would traverse hundreds, nay, THOUSANDS of miles across inhospitable and hostile terrain to do battle against the foul legions of the unholy who are bent on destroying the age of man...just to cast an evil ring into the liquid hot magma of an active volcano to absolutely rid the world of evil and its satan-allegory if it meant that The Albatross will remain open for the next 300 years. Again, I love this place. You, my friends at the Albatross Drive-In, bow to no one.
But in all seriousness, their food is amazing. They have some of the best, most delicious, and visually appealing burgers and hotdogs on Washington Island, if not the whole of Door County. Their shoestring fries are crispy and delightful, and their fried cheese curds are so gosh darn good that it will have you wanting to commit felonies just to have some more curds. I am severely lactose intolerant but gave their milkshakes a try despite my better judgment, and they are absolutely fantastic. It was totally worth the stomach pain, gas, and runny bowel movements for the next several days. So come one and come all and come check them out. Cheers!
Vegetarian options: Probably not the best place to go to for vegetarian or vegan options. The fries and deep-fried pickles might be vegetarian.
Dietary restrictions: Everything on their menu is good, so if you're on a diet, abandon all hope ye who enter here. Not sure if they're Kosher or Halal. And I'd ask ahead about their ingredients and food preparation methods if you have any food-borne allergies or illnesses.
Parking: Small lot, but you can park on the opposite side of the street on Main or on Detroit Harbor as long as you don't impede the motion of traffic or block any driveways.
Kid-friendliness: Great place to bring your family. Plenty of sweet treats for the younglings.
Wheelchair accessibility: It's outdoor seating with plenty of seats. You order and pick up your food at their shack, which is where everything is prepared. The space in front of where you order and pick up is at a bit of a slant going downward towards the parking lot, so I would certainly engage your parking breaks or chok your wheels so as not to slowly drift backwards while riding in your assisted mobility device.

The burgers here are fabulous. A great burger to topping ratio on them. The kids loved the chicken strips and fries, so I can only assume they were delicious as well. If you order a shake, be ready. There is only one size: huge. But it's a good thing because if they are all as good as the Mocha Monster, you will want that huge size. Definitely check this place out when you visit Washington Island.

We were visiting the island for the day and chose this as the stop for our large group for lunch, it was great! Not only did everyone enjoy their food, but the service was quick and friendly, did not expect a lunch stop to be a highlight of the trip, but it really was fun! Recommend to anyone who enjoys burgers, fries, and ice cream!
