I’ve been a fan of Magellans for a long time. I tell everyone to stop there for their pizza and long beer list. We celebrated my brothers 40th birthday there on Saturday and they were great! I messaged them through FB and Heather texted me about the reservation. It was so easy! I gave her the food orders in advanced and they had it all ready to go by the time we got there. Even had a friend show up and hour late and they had that in their notes so his pizza would not be cold. Heather asked if we wanted table cloths down for the party and I did decline. But it was a nice offer! We had a dedicated waitress that kept our drinks full and took a few photos of our group for us ( a couple of times lol) Highly recommend!

Drove around for 15 minutes looking for parking. Restaurant was full and very loud. Service was slow. Food was very good. Choice of tap beers is humongous!! Some are pricey. House wine is a great deal. I hate their high top tables and stools. I'm short and they are difficult to get into plus the metal table legs gave me bruises trying to get in and out of the seat.

Always a family favorite, but this time was extra special. Our server helped us keep my 4 year old entertained and treated him like a king. Food came out fast, hot, and so delicious. Have you tried the chicken nachos? You should. Pizza is always my go-to, but we love a lot of different things on the menu. The chicken sandwich is no lie HUGE!Kid-friendliness: The server really went out of her way to entertain my son and made him feel special while he was running out of patience waiting for his food.

I really love the atmosphere of this place but the food was inedible. I ordered the vegetarian Italian pizza and it was just gross. So much cheese and so greasy it was served on cardboard just to soak it up. Is what it is, I love pizza and definitely would not suggest other pizza lovers go here.

Honestly one of the worst pizzas I've ever had. I thought from the way they describe their pizzas on their website that they were made in house, but I've never been served a house-made pizza on a piece of cardboard. There was so much cheese on our two personal pizzas that they were inedible. I could hardly choke down one slice. It had all the characteristics of a cheap frozen pizza, but more expensive. The beer prices are crazy. $7 for a 10 oz pour of a beer that should be served as a pint for the same amount. The service was OK, but based on our pizza experience and beer prices we will never return.

I can't say enough good things about Magellan's! We hosted our staff holiday party there and they are excellent hosts. They truly roll out the red carpet!Heather and her team think of every little detail and go above and beyond to make sure the event is a success. From communication and planning to the day-of experience, everything was excellent and all the guests were raving about the place!

I just had my 40th Birthday Party at Magellan's On Main St (group size was ~40 to 45 ppl). It was OUTSTANDING. Semi-private space, which is what I wanted. No rental fee! Heather, their event coordinator, was so fantastic to work with. They set out tablecloths, filled up my balloons with the helium tank in the basement at no fee, had a sound system with a mic for addressing the group, and let us pick whatever music we wanted (or said I could play any Playlists I already had). They said they could do wristbands, drink tix, hosted bar, hosted food... they were so accommodating. I could bring in dessert/cake as well. We had 2 dedicated servers for our group. Food was excellent. Pizzas (and the rest of the apps we ordered for the group) were so tasty. And the beer selection.... wow. If you can't find a beer you like from the 50+ on tap, you must not like beer. Bartender also made an incredible dirty martini. It was SO much fun and I would highly recommend!

Had a party here and Danny, Heather and staff were so accommodating. Food was fun and excellent taste! Everyone commented it was some of the best pizzas they have ever had. Customer service was unmatched. All staff checked in and were so helpful. I don’t know when I have had such great customer service. Highly recommend !!

VerdicTL;DR: Believe the negative reviews about the food. It's a shame, as I would have loved to have given a higher score. Magellan's is one of the few downtown Waukesha restaurants that my kids and I had not explored yet, so we went a few days ago. The ambiance and the decor of the place were great, and we felt immediately welcomed -- in fact there was a lady who came outdoors after seeing us peep through the window to ask if we wanted to come on in. Our server Kate was efficient and friendly, and I have nothing but good things to say about her service. The beer selection is extensive and your usual assortment of local and regional microbrews. So far, so good. The problem is the food. The french fries and the cheese curds look, feel, and taste like the frozen mass-produced stuff you can get from Pick'n'Save. The burger tastes bizzare -- the meat is clearly overly seasoned, as if it were some kind of garlic meatball rather than, well, a burger. Both of my kids who had ordered the burger commented that it tasted mass-produced and strange, and one of them just refused to eat the burger outright. It was only after I tasted the burger for myself that I realized why -- I've not tasted a stranger burger-shaped object in my recent memory. I don't blame her for not finishing. Then the pizza came. In no particular order, here are our observations: 1. The crust itself seemed well cooked, almost to the point of burnt-ness in some areas. There are probably hot spots in the oven where they cook their pizza. 2. The sauce is absolutely taken over by the overpowering flavors of burnt oregano and basil. It tastes like someone took pizza sauce out of a can, dumped a whole container of dried Italian herbs into it, then reduced it to the point that the herbs burned. It's heinous. 3. The pizza is structurally unbalanced. Too much cheese, and way too many toppings. Due to this, it manages to both be well-cooked on the bottom and very doughy in the middle. 4. A large (16-inch) pizza starts at $32. Even at the time of this review, even in this age of inflation, that's a high price to be paying for a pizza of this size. You can get a much better burger if you walk half a block and go to the Mainstream, or hop into a car for 2 minutes and go to Sobelman's -- it'll taste like fresh ground beef expertly grilled instead of a frozen garlic meatball. You can get better fries and cheese curds just about anywhere, including at Culver's. If you want good pizza of the hand-tossed variety in Waukesha, head over to Raised Grains. But whatever you do, don't waste your money here.

Came in when they had a large party (a beer/pub crawl). The pub crawl party ended up to be much larger (more than double) than what was expected, so our party of six was moved to another area to accommodate the larger group. The manager was very nice and apologetic for having to move us, but having worked in the service industry, we knew the situation they were in. They took excellent care of us and our meal came out quickly. Drinks were replenished regularly. Enjoyed a great meal with friends and service was top notch! Couldn’t ask for more. We’ll definitely be back!

Came with a group of about 50. Preordered pizza and salad. Had enough pizza for about half of us when we arrived — and did not save any tables for us. About 20 minutes later, they brought out our salad, but no dressing. That came 5 minutes later. Not good for groups!!!!

pizza is terrible and owner responded with a very disrespectful attitud, don't waste your money, can't I give 0 stars

John Frye

Pizza had no taste, skimped on ingredients, now I am replying to the disrespectful response I received from the owner instead of a professional response, will never go there again and will spread the word to his attitude. I just wish I would have given 0 stars after owners disrespectful reply. Still received no satisfactory reply from owner except for his snarky comment, apparently he does not care about social media. Still awaiting any response regarding owners snarky reply, please do not spend your money, I have been spreading the word on every site I can find, I have never felt so disrespected by an owner.
