Steaming Cup has been one of my favorite downtown Waukesha stops for 3 years. The coffee is excellent, the food is consistently solid, and the atmosphere is exactly what you want from a local café — warm, comfortable, and welcoming without feeling crowded.
Service is always friendly and attentive, and even when they’re busy, the staff keeps things moving. It’s one of those places where you can come in for a quick drink or easily stay awhile with a laptop or a book.
They offer a good range of options for different diets, and the menu has enough variety that you can find something whether you want a full meal or something lighter. Parking downtown can be hit-or-miss during events, but on a normal day it’s easy enough.
Great spot for individuals, small groups, or casual meetings. If you’re in Waukesha and want a dependable local coffee shop with real character, this is it.

Super chill coffee/sandwich shop. Had the Southwest Panini and a Cinnsational Revolver, and couldn't be happier. Awesome service, tastey food, and strong coffee made the cold day feel a lot warmer. Will be back to try the Breakfast sammys!! Be awesome today :)

While in town for an art competition, my wife and I strolled the downtown. We chose the Steaming Cup for lunch. A historic building with a nice updated decor. Their menu has a good selection of soups and sandwiches. Lots of fancy coffee options, which we don't do, but seemed very popular with the other patrons. They also offer amazing bakery choices including gluten free options. I had a beef sandwich which had lots of tender meat and fresh toppings. My wife had a pulled pork sandwich with chips. My side was a nice potato salad. The breads were great and very filling. We also had to indulge on some bakery. I can Definitely recommend the Blueberry Peach Strudel, while her scones was tender and flavorful. Prices were fair for the portions and quality. There are 3 dinning rooms to sit in with a fun decor that gives a positive vibe. Restrooms are also clean with a cute historic look. Just a fun place with great food.
