Ok hear me out. Ik everyone is nostalgic for the woods. A lot of us grew up eating there, myself included.THEY HAVE FALLEN OFF.The service is awful and the food meh. Went there for fish fry a few weeks ago. We waited almost 2 hours for our food after ordering. Server never refilled our drinks or let us know what was happening. Which wasn’t really her fault bcz, as far as I could see, she was the only server there.Went there just now for desserts and coffee. We sat there 25 minutes after ordering for 2 pieces of pie and a piece of cake. They we not busy at all.I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because they’re a small locally owned place in town and the employees are familiar faces.But I am done. EVERY SINGLE experience I’ve had there the last few years has been a bad one.LETS DO BETTER WAUPACA.

I got an order of home fries with cheese and onion on them and toast. There was so much food I had to take half home!! They also brought us a cinnamon roll it was huge and delicious!

I love coming here the food is food and service is great but the atmosphere has become very hostile from the kitchen, the last few weeks I have came in I can hear the kitchen female screaming at the staff, maybe a suggestion try controlling your mouth and temper or simply zip it up, staff is hard to find so maybe treat them better before you lose them cause a hostile environment is no place to be.Maybe hiring a person for phone register and kitchen prep.Hope you take this and work on keeping your mouth shut and not screaming so much.

Menu is WAY too big. They take a minimum of 30 minutes to bring you menus after you find a table. You won’t get your drinks until after your food comes and you have to remind the waitress that you ordered drinks. The food is really too much and not even that good. It’s not worth how long it takes and the staff is really not friendly at all.

1st time, great food, huge chef salad. My companion had the ham and cheese omelet and that was a big serving also. Only complaint it should list parking is back. I'm handicapped and it was a long trek for me. Plan on going again.

Unfortunately a terrible experience here. We waited almost an hour for our food. Which wouldn’t have been the worst but not a single staff member bothered to tell us why there was such a long wait or offer any apologies. No one came to the table to check on us why we waited. We finally had to get up to ask where the food was after 40 minutes to be told it would be another 10. I wouldn’t have been so upset had the staff cared even a little about notifying customers there was a long wait. Not even from what looked like the manager. It looked like many others were waiting a long time a well. The food was good when we finally got it. All restaurants have bad days or are understaffed-but a little customer service and care goes a long way.
The food is good, the service is friendly, but we waited an hour and a half to get our food. We arrived WITH a reservation at 12:00 it is now 1:27 and we still haven't gotten our food.

We never got opportunity to experience the food or atmosphere. We arrived at 10:40am and had a party of 6. We were added to a list and told it would be a 15 minute wait. At 11:25am the hostess called the second party of 5 when my husband went to ask how much longer she replied "oh, I don't know why I crossed your name off." My husband asked if we could have the empty large table in the corner? The hostess said no, it was for a reservation, and that it would be another 30 minute wait. Needless to say we left. Poor business ethics if you ask me...they should have made it right.
