Carmelo's Italian Restaurant

It's been 4 or 5 months since we had dinner here. I thought it was good the last time. Took the grandkids out tonight and it was fantastic. The bread required a second basket. Everyone enjoyed it. We will be back in a week or so.

Thank you to all who made our family's surprise birthday party a memorable success!! The young man bartender in the sports bar where we met made excellent drinks with litte wait time and kept an accurate running print-out tab. Our hostess was caring and on top of all our seating requests. Lizzie was an incredible server, never missed a beat taking care of 16 guests. All our food was delicious to perfection! Everyone was 100% happy!!
I sincerly thank everyone who made our evening a most special event. I wish I could remember our bartender's and hostess's names. The deserve to be specifically noted.

The food and service were excellent. My small criticism is that the portions of some menu choices are so HUGE that they are unmanageable.

Carmelo's never disappoints. The food and service are amazing, consistently. A true staple to the Wausau community!

Super good food! The clam chowder was the best I've ever had. We also had spaghetti and meatballs and lasagna with Italian sausage as a side. Everything was great including my glass of Italian Cabernet.

Stunk of fish and the wait was an hour, but there were empty tables and no one else waiting. We left.

The only thing that was good about this once excellent restaurant was the staff. Food was boring and lacked flavor and authenticity. Over priced for the poor quality.

Always enjoyed the restaurant years ago but now not so much. My husband and I went in last week and ordered what used to be our favorites. But both of us were disappointed. The steak that we paid $35.00 for wasn't tasty. Very plain and wasn't even hot. The manicotti was hard to cut into the portion was half the size it used to be and was cold. We can't imagine going back.
