Wife and I were there for Friday fish fry and it was good. Ordered coffee with my meal and coffee was COLD. I asked to have it heated and the waitress brought it back as it left. I ordered a second cup and also arrived COLD! So don't look for a warming cup of Joe at Great Dane...

Soooo I ordered fish fry.. Great Dane doesn’t disappoint. A bad review here isn’t necessary because they always are top notch. Visiting from Alaska I’m super bummed beer cheese soup is no longer on the menu as it has been like a major fav of mine forever buttttt the fried plantain is definitely a great addition. They are super cool to let me me substitute for those. Love the vibes and the food is what I tell my Alaskan friends about everytime I go home ?? thanks guys for all you do ?

A very good hang out joint and the strip steak served here at the Great Dane was perfectly done and awesome with the Scotch Ale and topped with butter.

This place is beat up and dirty. It smells like a college bar that has not been cleaned in years. The service was poor and slow, we were charged NYC prices in Wisconsin for a terrible experience. I have never revised any business before but this was awful.

This place is fifthy dirty and charged us $20 for a neat cocktail where the liquor was so old it was sour. Don't go here.

After two decades of culinary adventures in the Wausau wilderness, we finally hit rock bottom. Picture this: gravy with more lumps than a poorly mixed cement, a burger so overcooked it could double as a hockey puck, and bread so dry it made the Sahara look like a water park. The highlight? Waffle fries with a sauce that, frankly, deserved a better companion. The establishment screams old money charm from the outside, but step inside and it's like auditioning for a role in the next big mystery podcast - and not in a good way. The online menu paints a Michelin-starred fantasy, yet the reality is a one-hit wonder you'd rather not have on your playlist.Kid-friendliness: ?

Ordered a hamburger, the bun was so hard, you can knock on the table with it. My coworker ordered a chicken pot pie, the top of it is to be baked with the rest of the pie, it wasn't. It was an add-on. This was a piece of breading that must have been frozen and placed on top and microwave. He said it was so bitter, he couldn't eat it. His roll was just as hard, if not worse than mine. The waitress brought me a new bun to the table to have me switch it out. She couldn't have taken it back to the kitchen and did it for me? The 2nd bun was just as bad. That did it for me. We both said we're leaving. The waitress looked shocked,When we first got there, we asked for a table, and we were told they didn't have any available. There were 6 people in the restaurant at the time. Sat us at the bar.Horrible, I would never go back. I would give it less the 1 star if I could.Anyone who would say this is a good place to eat has never gone out to any place good.

We were in town buying a car and someone had recommended this place. It was a Monday night - January 8th. Looks real neat from the outside. Walking inside, we found that they brewed their own beer, so we thought we hit the jackpot. There are so many positive reviews (and maybe we needed the server named Brody to outshine our experience). Unfortunately, the place did not live up to being GREAT. My husband ordered a beer that he said was okay, the mule I ordered was good but not served in the traditional copper mug. We ordered the calamari for our app which can always be tricky (I am always afraid of it being undercooked/not crispy). The calamari was different but TASTY. It is served with pickled peppers and shallots but there was about six pieces of calamari which we thought was strange. I ordered the Buffalo Style WI cheddar mac - it was okay - not your typical mac-n-cheese as the base but the menu does state "pilsner cheese sauce" so it just wasn't for me. If I had to guess there was about 2oz of grilled chicken on it. I am not a big eater so I don't need a lot but at nearly $18 for the meal, one should expect at least the amount of a chicken breast. My husband had the big dog smash burger. These patties were not smash patties. A fast food establishment wouldn't pass this off as a burger. We wanted to LIKE/LOVE this place. It may typically be good. Perhaps it was a Monday night.

First time customers. I ordered the NY Strip which came with green beans and garlic mashed potatoes. My husband ordered Nashville Hot Chichen sandwich with steak fries. Also ordered cheese curbs as an appetizer and Brownies for dessert.I ordered a medium rare steak. It was over cooked. I wanted to love it..but the only seasoning if it had any was the garlic that was mixed in the butter. The green beans were soft, but no seasoning at all. The garlic mashed potatoes were slimy then some chunks. Not sure what happened to them. They also did not have any seasoning. I salted everything and still couldn't bring myself to eat my meal.My husband liked the chicken sandwich. However, he felt the breading was a bit salty. Guess the kitchen can't make up their mind about the salt. The French fries were good, but hubby is not a fan of seasoning salt.Cheese curds were good. Not overly breaded. The dessert. It was some kind of cheesecake brownie, topped with a scoop of ice cream, hot fudge, caramel and whip topping. It was ok, but the brownie was more cake then brownie. We did have a friendly and attentive waitress. To be honest, I don't know if there will be a second time. If I do, there will be things I won't order again.

Great experience, but what made it even better was our server. Brody was amazing, he went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after. The type of guy who'd give you the shirt off his back. I should've asked for it too, it was a cool shirt and I wanted it.
