First time trying this place and I got the smother pork chop over rice, greens and the mac and cheese. Chop was ok but the gravy wasn't what I liked. The greens were ok but the mac was over cooked and you got a lot of big chumps of cheese.

They hooked us up pre-Christmas this year! When we want a home cooked southern style meal, we come here. And we come here often. At least every 3 weeks. And they never disappoint, no matter what we order. They plate it to go, nice and neat and the fried foods stay crispy! And I tell everybody at work if they want a good Ole country meal come here.

Hands down the best soul food and customer service ever! I love catfish, but I don’t order it often because the breading isn’t good and the fish isn’t fresh. However, this place has the best catfish I’ve ever had! Breading is on point and the fish is as fresh as it gets! Everything they make is so darn good and the presentation is gorgeous! Looks like it came out of a magazine every time we order! They truly treat you like family here too, the nicest people! Just ordered a sweet potato pie for Thanksgiving with the family… and OH EM GEE!!! So so good! There is nothing they don’t know how to do! My husband and I are frequent flyers and customers for life!

First time visiting. Atmosphere was fine. Staff was nice and friendly, prices were a bit high for me but I wanted the food so bad I made an exception. I had the catfish dinner with Mac yams and dressing. The only thing I enjoyed was the fish. It was fire! The cornbread was dry, the Mac was flavorless, the dressing was a bit salty and the yams were too sweet for my liking. Also I had Maybe five yams and underneath was basically mashed sweet potatoes. I am a child of a woman from the South so I know good food. Looks great but taste not so good. I most likely won't visit again.

We drove all the way from Madison but before we drove we called to see if they were open and they were VERY VERY NICE and gave us the whole run down of the menu. When we got there they were patient and gave us a run down of the menu again, gave us suggestions. We ordered 5 meals for our family and waited till we got back home to eat, food was STILL hot and fresh. YALL ONE PLATE CAN FEED 2 PEOPLE…I am not joking. They food was so good and they customer service matched how good the food was. 10/10 we will be back
So starting off I was a little dissatisfied because they were suppose to open at 12PM but when I called was told they wouldn’t open until 1PM so to staffing shortage, when I arrived at 1PM I then was told they wouldn’t open for another 15mins because they are waiting on a cashier. I was their first customer. The food came out hot. I ordered Smothered Pork Chops, Greens, Spaghetti, and a side of Dressing & a pecan glazed sweet potato pie which total was $38.04. Overall everything was delicious except the greens. The greens were bitter, no seasoning or flavor and just not good at all. The pork chops were so soft and delicious and full of flavor as well as the dressing. Overall I am pleased. Would definitely come back. Whoever the cashier is she should definitely smile more and be more welcoming. She seemed tensed and irritated, wasn’t welcoming considering she’s the face of the business when someone comes.

I can’t Believe I didn’t know that this place serves the best comfort food around. And the sweet potato pie is like biting into heaven.Parking: It’s just a parking strip. Serves its purpose.
Food was delicious and a generous helping enough to share. This is excellent soul food and cooked like many traditions in black families. If you want to try some delicious soul food here is your chance to experience some yumminess, deliciousness and fulfilling. Great staff, fish made fresh with order it was a tad bit salty but ok.

My husband and I frequently visit this restaurant on Fridays for the best fish fry in town. We have had their fish, spaghetti, mac and cheese, rice and gravy, yams and greens and when I say this is the best soul food I have ever tasted in a restaurant I want to ask the cook if she could give me cooking lessons this how good the food is. I can't wait to try her dressing I think she only makes it on Sundays but I will get there. If you're looking for some down home southern cooking you better get to Plate Pleasures Eatery. If the food not good I won't bother to write a review. I just won't go back.

Been looking for some good soul food since I came to Milwaukee and found some. The fish plate I had was great with the highlight being the fish and the yams. Those fish and yams was perfect, perfectly seasoned and fried and the yams perfect level of sweetness and melt in mouth. They also gave a good side of hot sauce with the fish that was perfect. The mac n cheese could've been more seasoned in my opinion (I just added a lil Tony's and it was perfect) and the greens more tender. But overall a very delicious plate. The service was quick when I went considering they are made to order (this place is to go only). The menu honestly sound so good I wanted everything but of course couldn't order all that so I will have to go back and try their other stuff (turkey necks and gumbo).

I love the food and the way the menu look. I’ve talk with her multiple times and she’s very nice and sweet and her service is actually amazing I didn’t think she would come to my car to give me the food which was a surprise. It is a bit pricey but other than that if your craving some soul food and don’t feel like cooking this is the place you go to??
