8/8/25 My daughter saw this business online & immediately honed in one the giant mozzarella cheese stick better known as the Lightning Rod. 1st let me explain why I gave the Atmosphere a 2 star....the parking lot is small & if more than 1 car is in the lot, I could see it being a problem to get out. Secondly it was rather warm upon entering the establishment to the point I was sweating while sitting down. There was no air or even a fan to keep the customer cool while waiting for the food! Now the food....my daughter LOVED IT! It was indeed big. She didn't say anything about the sauce & what it tasted like but the cheese stayed hot/warm long enough for ber to finish what she wanted to eat. It was a bit pricey BUT that was a lot of cheese! Front counter was friendly & if ever we visited Wisconsin again.....I'm sure she'll want to make a return visit!

1st time trying Alphonson's pizza, I almost choose a different option due to so many sevice and delivery fees. Pizza flavors were good! However the house/original cracker crust was VERY hard to get through. My mother got a steak knife to cut through it. Can't comment on atmosphere since we had delivery

The lightning rod. Don't hesitate, just order one, or 2. These are one of my favorite memories of this trip. My kids loved the huge cheese pulls and the crunch from the breading was prefect. Small building with no tables inside, but we found a great little park about a block away that had picnic tables perfect for enjoying our snack.

The crust on this pizza is my favorite in town. I love the slight char on the cracker thin crust. I haven't had a pizza from here I didn't like.

The AC either wasn’t on or not working… very hot day( over 90 outside easily over 120 in store)

Pizza was good. Cheesesticks are HUGE and FUN, but not the best taste unless you love mozzarella. It just cools quickly, so the cheese gets hard. I don't love the marinara dipping sauce- tastes like it came from a can. But LOVE the vibes inside.

Alphonso's is legit. The owners are great and their tribute to Gen X and the 80s is an awesome reminder of how great many of our childhoods were.
Traveled 1,600 miles to try the the World Famous
Lightning Rod Mozzarella Sticks and they did not disappoint! They were hot, fresh and the cheese pull needed a ladder!
Wish I was closer. I might have to see about how I can sell these locally as they'd be a hit.

I had been waiting to try this for at least a year and my kids had harassed me for 2 weeks... very disappointed... I love pizza and this was the worst pizza I ever had. The sauce from the lightning rod cheese sticks taste better than the sauce on the pizza... the lightning rod cheese stick impressive and very cheesy!!!!!! But the lightning rod crust was very rough and was cutting the top of my gums... its huge and we cut it into 5 pieces...

Amazing service and the nicest people ever. The atmosphere is a Time Machine to the 80’s and the food is amazing. Best mozzarella sticks ever! Cannot recommend enough.
