Alphonso's | The Original Pizzeria

Got an alzone on 12/9. Used the squareup that you use. Apparently Uber Eats picked it up. Delivered to the wrong address. Had to go out in the cold to see if it was nearby. Found it cold and wet on a neighbors porch. Called Alphonso's they said to call squareup. Called them and they said they would call Uber to have it refunded. Well it's 11 days later and no refund. $42.59 for a calzone with hardly any sauce and virtually no taste. Still waiting for that refund.!!!!!. Why are you using a company in California for your delivery system??

This is the most rad place in the greater Milwaukee area! The pizza is incredible, I loved the light, crispy crust and seasoning..... So so good!
The Lightning Rod is what you NEED to get! Crispy seasoned outside, chuck full of cheese - can't go wrong with a foot long cheese stick!
The atmosphere is incredible! It's the 80's in a pizza shop and I'm coming back, every time I'm in the Milwaukee area!

Definitely make time to stop inside the shop in person, it’s like stepping into a nostalgic time capsule. So much fun. Great food, employees, and atmosphere. Love this spot!

Drove from Indiana just to try the Mozzarella Lightning Rods and it was well worth the drive and well worth the wait to find time to make the trip to get them! They were crispy and cheesy, full of flavor - the marinara dipping sauce was delicious too. So ideally we had to get 4 to make the trip worth it right? There isnt anywhere to dine in so be aware of that.

OMG!!!!! How am I just now learning about this place!?!?!?

The atmosphere is great! Tons of nostalgic stuff to look at!! From old BMX bikes to old school toys to look at and THEY HAVE A NINTENDO TO PLAY WHILE WAITONG FOR YOUR ORDER!!! Mike Tyson Punch Out!

Now.... About the food... Absolutely fantastic!!! I got the Lighting Rod, The Knucle Sandwich which comes with a very nice amount of fries and it was all delicious!!!
The Lighting Rod is HUGE!!! And the red sauce it comes with is also some of the best red sauce I've ever had!!!!

I will absolutely be back to try other foods offered but I will warn you..... Bring your appetite cause the portions are LARGE! Definitely get your monies worth of food!!

So glad I stopped in this place! 100% will recommend to anyone.

8/8/25 My daughter saw this business online & immediately honed in one the giant mozzarella cheese stick better known as the Lightning Rod. 1st let me explain why I gave the Atmosphere a 2 star....the parking lot is small & if more than 1 car is in the lot, I could see it being a problem to get out. Secondly it was rather warm upon entering the establishment to the point I was sweating while sitting down. There was no air or even a fan to keep the customer cool while waiting for the food! Now the food....my daughter LOVED IT! It was indeed big. She didn't say anything about the sauce & what it tasted like but the cheese stayed hot/warm long enough for ber to finish what she wanted to eat. It was a bit pricey BUT that was a lot of cheese! Front counter was friendly & if ever we visited Wisconsin again.....I'm sure she'll want to make a return visit!

1st time trying Alphonson's pizza, I almost choose a different option due to so many sevice and delivery fees. Pizza flavors were good! However the house/original cracker crust was VERY hard to get through. My mother got a steak knife to cut through it. Can't comment on atmosphere since we had delivery

The lightning rod. Don't hesitate, just order one, or 2. These are one of my favorite memories of this trip. My kids loved the huge cheese pulls and the crunch from the breading was prefect. Small building with no tables inside, but we found a great little park about a block away that had picnic tables perfect for enjoying our snack.
