“Fun German experience in the Midwest! Very cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Great selection of beer available and tons of authentic German dishes. Sausages were excellent and price was extremely reasonable for dinner ($25-$30 per person)... Try it out!”

“This was our 1st. time here and it certainly didn't disappoint! Atmosphere was really nice, cozy but still fun. Our waitress Eliza was super, checking on us but never pushy. She gave us some great recommendations that were absolutely delicious. We started with sharing a cup of corn and crab chowder, beet and goat cheese salad and sautéed crawfish with crossttini. Everything was fantastic, not to spicy hot just seasoned well. Main course was also great, steak and mashed potatoes....super tender and juicy steak came out exactly like we ordered...perfect meduim rare. That doesn't happen often. Also had the blacken salmon with asparagus and beans and rice. Again can't say enough it was delicious. Then to top the evening off we shared the beneignts with a fruit sauce. YUMMY Kudos to you all the chef and waite staff and Eliza for a great dining experience.”

“We have traveled extensively throughout the United States and Caribbean. In fact, we are three states away from being in all fifty. This hotel is one of the best planned and run that we have ever stayed in! The check in agent was busy on a work related call but managed to check us in so we didn’t have to wait. The room was spotless and smelled very clean. The bed was oriented facing the window which I don’t think I’ve ever seen before. Rather enjoyed that. Very comfortable pillows, two seemed to be feather. An honest to goodness nightlight was provided in the bathroom instead of nothing or a green glowing panel. The floor to ceiling sliding glass door in the shower insured no fighting with a curtain to keep water off the floor. Nicely arranged bathmat to look like a butterfly. Speaking of the shower, how nice the have the water control on the opposite wall from the shower head so you don’t get sprayed with cold water. A nice big shower also. PLENTY of outlets and USB fast charging ports in the room also, much appreciated! Well appointed gym. The breakfast room in the morning was well designed with tvs on several walls so no matter which way you faced, made for easy viewing. The breakfast among other things consisted of scrambled eggs, hash browns and nice crisp bacon. Muffins, waffles, breads etc made for a breakfast to please anyone. All well serviced and maintained by staff. USA Today was provided both downstairs and by the elevator on the floors. Ample parking and walking distance from a Walgreens and restaurants. Right across the the State Fairgrounds also. All in all, congratulations to the management and a place we will definitely stay at again should we find ourselves in Milwaukee!”

“I had ordered a pizza last night from Alphonso‘s and I thought it was the absolute worst pizza I ever had when it arrived at my house. It was almost burnt. I called and complained to the manager. He said he would do everything he could to make it up to me. So I stopped in today and they gave me a pizza and one of their sandwiches and I haven’t had the sandwich yet because I’m too full from the pizza, it was a night and day difference From yesterday to today. It was excellent.”

“One of the best restaurants in West Allis (there’s a reason it’s always busy). Never had any issue with food, service is excellent, and the coffee drink options are a really nice touch for the type of place you don’t usually find them. Highly recommend this place to anyone!

Parking: There’s plenty of street parking, but with all the local business so close to each other, you’ll often have to walk a block or two. But parking is always safe and easy to find.”

“Came from madison area, to experience some of the best wings, and most friendly bar atmosphere I’ve ever seen! Our Bartender/server, Brad was extremely friendly, and very helpful when it came to the menu! The wings were saucy, yet perfectly crisp, and moist on the inside and Very large healthy wings!! The tap beers were on special, and also enjoyed some of they’re famous old fashions. Definitely will be making the trip back!! Highly recommend if your in search of excellent wings, or just a good bar to grab a drink!”

First time visit we had garlic bread and a garlic bread, meatball sandwich and chicken tenders and fries and the salad and potato soup. And manicotti. Inflation has raised prices everywhere, but the prices here for the portions was quite reasonable.”

We come here weekly like clockwork now - before moving here it was my choice when I’d come up from IL to visit (when it was my time to pick) - for the Jacks, Ecto Cooler & the Parm fries but also for the EXCEPTIONAL service by Katie. She helps me navigate this large, fabulous menu & she has never steered us wrong. She is so knowledgeable, fast & friendly. I only wish every place had a Katie to accent a menu this delicious. Phylo's, hiding on a corner in West Allis, is a wonderful vestige of a time of warmth and welcome. Within ten minutes, we were talking with everyone in the bar. The maestro of this symphony is the indomitable Lou, the owner and master of the grill. She cooked up one of the best burgers I have tasted, with a choice of cheese, onions, tomato, lettuce, pickles and whatever else you want. Lou is there to please. She is also the consummate master of ceremonies and makes Phylo’s a special place.”

“I love this place. the food is fantastic. everything seems to be priced right. they always take good care of us, we have our computer club meetings there and I appreciate them greatly. did I say the food is fantastic? the fish fry is fantastic. there's a wonderful array of all kinds of beer, so if you live in West Allis or Milwaukee you will appreciate it, especially if you're a beer snob they have some of those beers as well. if I lived a little bit closer I'd probably eat and drink here three or four times a week.

Now our bartender/server was not attentive to us at all (we sat at the bar). 2 tables behind us got there drinks, chips&pico before we were even asked our drink order. We also had to ask another server to get us another beer as our bartender had us waiting and waiting. I would still recommended and go back because of the food and Manny made up for the poor service.”
