Heard really good things about Chef Paz so I had to give it a try — and it did not disappoint! I went there with my family, and from the start we were impressed. They offered natural juice, which was amazing and super refreshing.

We ordered plantains and the flavor was on point. The chupe de camarones was incredible — rich, flavorful, and comforting — and the ceviche con camarones y pescado was absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was fresh and perfectly seasoned.

Honestly, 10/10 for the food. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic flavors and a great family dining experience!

Probably a vist at midday was not a great idea. The beef stew thing i got was pretty dry. And the waitress was more concerned about catching up with whoever she was laughing away with. Really annoyingly I might add. Was expecting better for $30 spent...

Service was prompt and very friendly. There is a pretty extensive menu, lots of options without it being overwhelming. We tried several small dishes and then each had an entree. We had plenty to eat but didn’t feel overly full because the food is fresh and doesn’t weigh you down! We all loved the Papa a la Huancaina, the sauce is amazing and the potatoes are cooked perfectly. A couple of us don’t usually like cilantro but the creamy cilantro sauce served with the empanadas is so good, we all enjoyed it. It was nice that they brought out our small dishes as they were ready instead of everything at once, it made it easier to enjoy.

Just finished a really satisfying meal, feeling pleasantly full now. The flavors were incredible, a true delight for my taste buds. I savored every single bite, and now I feel completely content. It was the perfect way to recharge and get ready for whatever comes next.

Back for another visit, we drive over an hour to get here and it's more than worth it. Tried a few new dishes this time, all are excellent and beautifully presented. At each visit we'll be ordering the anticuchos, they are fantastic.

My daughter suggested we go here because we were in the area. After eating there I intend to be in the area more often! The food was amazing. I love to watch food shows and try new cuisines so I was excited to try Peruvian food and I was not disappointed. Everything was so good. The restaurant was very unimpressive from the outside, but don't let that stop you. If you like Mexican food I believe you will enjoy this Peruvian food. If all food in Peru is this good, if I lived there I'd weigh 800 pounds. If you don't enjoy your trip to Chef Paz, I think we can't be friends.

The best Peruvian food in Milwaukee. I'll definitely be back.

Chef Paz is a family-run Peruvian restaurant that is reasonably priced for the quality of its cooking. The people who run the place are lovely. There is no bar, and that affects the fun quotient. Chef Paz was subdued on the night we dined with friends. I brought a bottle of saké and absorbed Chef Paz's $15.00 corkage fee. Peruvian food goes well with saké. Peru has a large Japanese population. The empanadas stood out, but the other dishes were not memorable but tasted good. Pricing was excellent. I might return to Chef Paz, and I might not. That says it all.

Peruvian food might not be on the top of your list on things you want to try. Don’t let that scare you off. Go to this place and give it a try. We tried a little bit of everything. Empanadas, beef stew, chicken gratin, and alfajores. Every bit of it was full of a different flavor. Will definitely put this place in my rotation.

We’ve been going here since they opened; we like family owned and run places. In the beginning it was one of those “mama’s is in the kitchen” places, but it seems that has changed at this point and the cooking is hired out. The dishes have also changed and the quality of some have suffered. Not always the freshest of ingredients and while the names of the dishes remain the same on the menu, the configuration and components of some dishes have dramatically changed. We liked the empanadas, but this time they were dry. I had a shrimp and rice dish which was good, but the shrimp were not particularly fresh and were kind of tasteless. My boyfriend ordered Arroz con pollo and it was completely different than the time before, with over cooked chicken strips. The prices have gone up of course. The sangria is great and the service is always friendly and attentive.
