Gus' is a great place. The owner was there and took our order and then made our food. The enchilada was absolutely delicious and more than enough for lunch tomorrow. Same with the BLT that was piled high with tasty, perfectly cooked bacon.
The owner was very attentive and thanked us for coming.

So y'all know me I'm fair and I rate based on the usual factors. Food quality, time quality, service, atmosphere.
I'll start off by saying this is a class act family hole in the wall. Gus is a nice guy with a fascinating past and a good heart. You may be surprised at some of the memorabilia you find on the walls. Especially the thanks from some early punk/grunge bands he fed.
Initial atmosphere. It'll throw you off at first because it isn't an industrial complex but don't let that get to you. It's not pristine and it's not meant to be. He keeps things clean though. You can just as easily bring yourself as you can a party of seven or eight.
A key part is paying attention to the hours because currently he is 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m..
As far as the food goes he cuts and preps everything fresh daily and makes the meals from scratch. I was given a peek behind the counter and can confirm this. You can definitely get quality flavor and depth in when he cooks.
You may raise your eyebrows at the prices but when you realize the size of the portions you're getting for the price you will not complain. I ordered a $15 chorizo burrito and the thing was as big as my forearm.
I looked out because I showed up when it was really quiet after a morning event. So the entire place was empty. I was blessed to talk with Gus as he cooked and he pointed out it was just him and his wife running the place. So if you show up and things take a little bit please be respectful and patient.
Bottom line very good hole in the wall that's worth giving a shot.

Food is good
Fantastic service, quality food, large portions! Stopped in for my first time, I will definitely be back and can’t recommend enough. Thanks Gus!
I used to love Gus’s Mexican Cantina, so I was thrilled to find out about the deli. I can still get my favorite, the Mexican Pizza. Service is absolutely top notch, so very welcoming and friendly.

Someone had written that Gus’s had the best gyro he’d ever tasted, kind of sounds like hyperbole but I wanted to check it out…I would concur!! They do it differently and it was delicious! The whole vibe of the place is warm, the food came fast. It’s in the building that houses Channel 58, I’ve driven by there a thousand times…you wouldn’t know it’s there unless you’re looking for it but it’s worth seeking out.

Totally overrated! The gyro is OK, but not the best or the biggest around. Called 3 times without an answer and when he answered he told us to hurry because he’s so busy! He also wouldn’t accommodate any special requests and put tomatoes (which I can’t eat) on my sandwich. The wife is just as unfriendly. First and last time!
$30.50 for 2 gyros and 1 fry. He wouldn’t let me add extra meat either, even though I had no problem paying the $7!
