Owners wife is abrasive and second time I experienced this so I reserved judgement initially, we all have bad days! . But yea very short, abrasive, and cold at best. Will not be patronizing Wild Roots again.
Food was excellent and service was top notch. A manager (I think) handled a group of drunk boomers so gracefully. I can’t wait to come back!

Was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful this place is! Lisa was a wonderful server and the food was delicious. I had the bluegill fish fry which came with a ginger coleslaw and a horseradish-y tarter sauce. Very good!

Still one of my favorite restaurants. The Duck Fat burger is literally best burger I’ve ever had! There gnocchi was divine! Jessica M was professional and attentive. Little hidden gem. It’s a must try.

A quaint spot on the corner with several , equally good restaurants, near it. Our server was warm, inviting and very knowledgeable about the menu and the specials of the day. The worst part of the experience was trying to decide which entree to try. She says all their burgers are made with brisket which is an added twist. Cocktail selection was diverse without being too over the top. Our first time here, but definitely not the last.

This was my second time here, but my first time for lunch. I came with a couple of friends, with the goal of trying their highly praised Duck Fat Burgers, which were rated as the second-best burger in Milwaukee by Milwaukee Magazine. We were not disappointed.
It was a Wednesday, and we arrived a little before noon. There were a few other people there, some at the bar and others at the small tables. The place is a little loud, with lots of hard surfaces and music playing. We were greeted by a very friendly server, who seemed to be doing pretty much everything except the cooking.
There are a couple of different burgers on the menu, but we all went with the Duck Fat Burger. It is a one-third pound patty, cooked to order. My medium-rare came out exactly as I like it. The combination of caramelized onion, cheese, and thousand island was well balanced. The bun was nicely grilled, and the crunch lasted through the entire meal. The French fries were hot and flavorful, with a very crusty exterior and a soft inner texture. I talked to the cook, who let me in on the secret, they double fry them.
With the exception of the noise level, it was an excellent burger experience. The service was very good (thanks, Jessica). I will definitely be coming back again.
