Food was terrible. The burger was a frozen patty that was cooked by boiling in water. Looked the same brand as Sam club or Walmart with the little holes all over the patty, spongey consistency and processed flavor. Fries were cooked in an oven or under a broiler, they were burnt on one side and undercooked on the other. All around as bad experience and it was $36 for two burgers and fries.

It would seem Bennie’s has fallen from great food to substandard food in just a few short months. I would go for the Thursday rib special every week and Sunday for gravy and biscuits. In the beginning I was served beautiful dry rubbed ribs that fell off the bone.
Today I received everything cold on a plate. Cold Ribs, under cooked with cold BQ sauce slathered on. Cold mash potatoes that the butter could not melt on and cold canned French cut green beans. I asked to talk to a manager. A young man more than likely under 20 years old came out to address my concerns. I was told the old cook had all the recipes and he was doing his best, which is substandard because he lacks the experience to be the top line cook. Further talking to the staff it became apparent there is an absentee owner. The combination of this shows why this business has slowed down to the point of closing on Wednesdays. Inexperienced staff and absent owner in a small town diner equals not open for long and someone losing a lot of money.
I sure hope someone takes this review seriously. Bennie’s was once a great place to eat. Now it is just a struggling substandard diner found in to many of Wisconsin small towns. That will slowly die because no one cares enough to build a lasting business that serves quality food.

Usually this place is great to go to but don’t recommend during the week. You don’t get what you order, you get pieces of your order separated 10 mins apart. Waitress had the same gloves on to operate the cash register and touch food without changing gloves. Bread is stale too and you get to pay for the meal you didn’t order.

I was in the restaurant about 9 am, it was quiet and not busy. The young lady waitress was polite, friendly, and gave me time to look at the menu. Served my food hot and good. Eggs cooked just right. All was great tasting. Even order a hamburger to go and was brought out about the time I was finishing up my breakfast.

Was a take out meal if you want o call it that not a true chicago dog, not even close don't advertise if it's not was nasty not a true hot dog not beef nor a snap when bitten and loaded with sport peppers so it would cover taste, chopped tomatoes not a slices no neon relish or pickle slice celery salt

Absolutely loved this diner. Love the a la carte options and love the seasoned hash browns they do. Eggs cooked perfectly also. Coffee good. Everything you want when you are going to a diner. The gal serving use was the friendliest sweetest little thing and we’re grateful for this little diner. Will be back when traveling through!
