Grand Avenue Tavern

😥I was just at the Mead hotel over the past weekend. It was an unfortunate experience. We were there with 2 rooms and the rooms were NOT clean. The public areas of the hotel were not clean or maintained. The rooms had a strange smell. The hallways had not been vacuumed in quite a while and there was dirt on the carpet and some places that were fixed with duct tape. The elevator with brass walls was filthy and had been cleaned such that it looked like streaks of cleaning fluid were never wiped. There was dirt on the halls and marks that were not painted over. It looks like they are not maintaining or cleaning major sections of the hotel. It was a shocking sight considering the former reputation of the hotel. No maintenance or cleaning staff was seen in the 2 days we stayed there. We won't be able to go back. Book somewhere else, if you go to Wisconsin Rapids.

This place is an outdated dump that’s falling apart. It’s kind of sad to be honest

Came in on a Monday night, running errands in Rapids needed to grab dinner. We ordered a gluten free pizza and it was hot and delicious. Unfortunately my mom did start having her celiac reaction. But, she did enjoy the pizza! Just not celiac friendly. Talked about playing pool, because it sounded like a good time sadly it was league night! So the next time we come back we are going to hit the pool tables too!

Had a wonderful time tonight at the wine tasting thank you everyone for all you did making this a wonderful event. Very much looking forward to the next event. Thank you for bringing a touch of class to Wisconsin Rapids.

Just got home from a fantastic wine tasting at Hotel Mead. We had a lovely time, and Lucky was such a great hostess. Looking forward to more wine tastings, and other events there. Would love to go to some cooking classes to learn some other culture’s style of cooking… maybe some Phillipines or Vietnamese, would be super fun. Or a three to five course meal with wine pairings would be something we would love to see too.

I’ve been in a lot of hotels for work. This hotel has to be definitely in my top three. The staff from the owner and manager all the way to the housekeeping are great never been in a hotel. I really enjoyed my stay 😊

Jeff was an awesome bartender! Never had to wait for anything and he was very sociable and friendly! Will definitely be back!!

Oh where to start! Jeff the bartender! Oh he is wonderful! So funny and attentive. He alone made our stay at the hotel worthwhile! Cannot say enough great things about him and the service he provided! Lots of fun people to socialize with and don't forget to get some food. Pizzas are amazing! Jeff also provided everyone with amazing popcorn to munch on. So much fun! So glad we came out of our to check out the bar. Thanks to Jeff, we didn't stay for one, but created a memorable night for our birthday getaway! Thanks again Jeff!

Get people that actually know what they're doing when it comes to making reservations with customers. I was given the wrong room. I need i the accessible room and then gave me the wrong one and told me pretty much nothing they can do about it. I was not able to use the restroom very easily. The breakfast you can't even really call a breakfast. The swimming pool area has a ramp, but no access to the pool for people disabled. It really went down Hill fast Definitely do not waste your money there.

Bartender is awesome!!!! Laid back fun and accommodating!!

Good food great for a family meal, service is great, prices are good
