So my wife and I wound up in Beckley for an event we could no longer attend. We decided to see what kind of fun we could have around town & came across Jimmie's Place. When we went in it was just us, the bartender Sam & the door guy Travis. They were very welcoming & Sam made some great drinks & was so very friendly. This place is completely under the category of dive bar but it was a really cool dive bar that I'm glad we went to. A cool experience. If we end up in Beckley again...read full review

I and my granddaughter were made to fill very unwelcomed. I have experienced racism all my life and though no one overtly did anything but I felt as I'd I'd stepped into a Klan rally. I went to support a local musician (who performed very well) but the atmosphere felt very strained. It started with a group of 5 in our party. I and my granddaughter were the only ones carded at the door. It was downhill from there. I WON'T BE BACK...
