Hadn't visited in a long time....outstanding as ever! Impeccable service, presentation, and the food is to die for! I had the crab meat cocktail, salad with house dressing, and the petite filet with a stuffed baked potato. Sautéed mushrooms and onions on top of the steak. I didn't have room for dessert! I did have enough leftovers for the next day's lunch. Highly recommend - The Char is a must if you're in Beckley!

Really good food, almost five star. It's just that my wife is an amazing cook, and she has a better recipe for some of these dishes. A little pricey, but I expect it since running a restaurant today is very difficult. The ribeye steak was delicious but only a little better than Texas Roadhouse. (Maybe that tells you something about my lack of expertise in judging steaks, I don't know). Service was great. House salad and dressing was wonderful. Portions were modest.

The place is beautiful, but there is a smell of mold, humidity and old age that is difficult to get used to. I wish they would give it a remodel, it must be 30 years old with the same carpet and wallpaper

Great service great food but especially our server Christine! She was on point! We even got a treat of seeing Momma deer with twin babies through the big windows show casing the beautiful grounds. We will be back!!!

While the reputation of this restaurant was outstanding, the experience lead a lot to be desired. The chicken was dry while also being oily, our appetizers were removed from the table before they were finished and quite a while before dinner was brought. The specifics of the entrees were not provided and the staff seemed wholly uninterested in providing specifics.
