First time I ate here... The folks was nice and the food was good. I had their meatloaf dinner with a side of mashed taters and another side of mac with cheese. Instead of regular bread or a roll I got some cornbread. Very groovy place to eat.

Don't let the small location fool you---this place packs some BIG flavors. The food here is really good, the owners are extremely friendly, and you can tell everything is made with love. They have a great daily menu and daily specials so there's always something new to try. The prices are also very reasonable. This is a MUST-go-to location here in Beckley. Even if you don't normally go downtown, make the trip! It's worth it.

I stopped by here on a whim after an appointment. I didn't even make it out of my parking space with my to go food. I had to eat everything I ordered. I had the barbecue chicken Collards and mashed potatoes. And everything was truly amazing. I highly recommend stopping here on your way through town. I live about an hour away and will be driving here just for food when I need Fall off the bone chicken.

Absolutely fantastic experience at Upland Soul!!! Warm and wonderful customer service from Tamara, she's truly one-of-a-kind and so down to Earth. The food is absolutely incredible!!!!! It's so hard to find good soul food here in WV, but at Upland, you'll find exactly what you're looking for!!!! Delicious Mac and cheese, with cheese pull for days, and just the right amount of sweetness. IYKYK! The fried white fish is top notch, and don't get me started on the fried chicken!!!!! You can't get better fried chicken anywhere in Beckley, and probably not anywhere in the whole STATE!!! The prices are extremely fair, especially considering the MASSIVE portions. Upland is must have Beckley grub, and you're wasting time not ordering it now!

My family and I just happened upon this restaurant on a recent trip to WV. We ordered meatloaf, fried chicken, and pork chops; and tried sides of mashed potatoes, collards, baked beans, green beans, and mac and cheese. My niece could not keep from eating the chicken, even though it was very hot, right out of the fryer, the chops were tender and juicy, and the meatloaf was scrumptious. All the sides were home-cooked and delicious. My sister said the collards were some of the best she has had and my mashed potatoes were divine! This was the best meal we had while visiting WV! These two sisters are making their mama proud!
