The hotel is 5 minutes walking distance from the bath houses and there is a nice spa on the 4th floor with whirlpool so you can do one or the other. The receptionists were great, the food at the restaurant mediocre, the wifi was strong and the room was clean. The major problem came after I got home and checked my bank statement, via my app. They charged my card for 2 rooms and breakfast. I called back and the receptionist looked up everything, and wanted to credit my card but the transaction required a manager so she left a note for them to do it and call me back. The next morning Tina called, she started off pleasant but couldn't find the charges. She told me to read to her the transaction listed on my bank statement, which I did. Then she found the issue but wanted to be sure so she said she would do more research call me back. Tina called and said "you are correct" we charged 2 rooms and a breakfast to your card but if she reverse the charges, they wouldn't have payment for the other room. She then went on to give me the name and credit card info for the other guest and to get authorization from me to charge their card. I told Tina that I'm not responsible for chasing their money and I'm not authorizing charges on another person's card, that room has nothing to do with me or my card and she needs to refund those charges. She REFUSED to do that because they wouldn't have payment. She said this about 10 times, finally I said you need to call that person and talk to them but I want my money back. Tina hung up on me. When I called back, immediately, she was on the phone. I told the receptionist to have Tina call me asap or I can drive down there. Tina called me back sweet as pie, she did not apologize, she said she spoke with the other guest and got permission to charge their card so she will process my refund. She said "I always get to the bottom of things and figure them out" but she didn't. She wasn't able to tell me how my card was charged for another guest's bill, she didn't call the other guest until I told her, even though she had ALL the info, including their credit card and check in receipt and she refused to return my money. I'm going to make a big deal of this because it's wrong but also dangerous. This hotel can charge any guesc's credit card for any room they want and refused to refund it because they don't want to? Not on my watch.I appreciate their response and this isn't my first time staying in a hotel with these circumstances. My issue is they made a mistake and REFUSED to correct it. I had to argue with her and tell her to call the person associated with that room and she hung up on me. This is poor customer service and extortion. The GM did not apologize for the poor customer or the attempt to make me financially liable for 2 rooms, AFTER, acknowledging their mistake.

Our only real complaint is that the walls in the West Inn building were paper thin (we heard one room's TV and another's rooms very personal activities). Otherwise, it was everything expected for a hotel room.We also enjoyed our couples massage and whirlpool soak.

As the previous reviewer appropriately stated, this is a quirky inn and tough to review. The stately main building has such a luxurious presence and beautiful historical elements on the interior, but it’s important to keep in mind this is a 3 star hotel. From that aspect, it’s completely adequate and comfortable. This was our second stay here, and learned from our first to request a quiet room not facing the road, which we didn’t realize shifted our reservation from a king to 2 queens until we’d checked in and walked in the room. We made it work, as the room was super spacious albeit a tad worn, but would have welcomed a heads up. Of note the walls are thin, so recommend running white noise to sleep, and the beds are a touch harder than most chains. Could benefit from mattress toppers and new pillows. The staff are super accommodating and necessities like ice and a tea/coffee station available round the clock. Breakfast is busy but pretty good and great service (tho get coffee elsewhere, not the best). All in all it’s a unique spot, super convenient for walking around to take in the small town charm. The staff is very helpful if you have questions or a special request for your reservation!

Historic Inn located within walking distance of most shops in the heart of Berkeley Springs or Bath West Virginia. I am sure a summer visit would provide better scenery with all the trees etc., than the winter off season during our visit. There is a coffee and tea station open 24/7 which is nice. A nice, conveniently located restaurant on property is a real benefit to staying here. The staff is friendly and helpful. We took advantage of a special which included 2 nights and 2 massages for a pretty decent price. Probably due to being off season.Nearby activities: Local shops, coffee houses and restaurants.Walkability: Walking distance to local shops, coffee houses and restaurants. You can leave your vehicle parked at the Inn which is nice.

This is a quirky place. It is a lovely building with nice rooms each with its own flare. It is perfectly placed to enjoy all that Berkeley Springs has to offer. It's own restaurant is generally good. You won't leave hungry and you will be satisfied with your meal. I wish the Morgan Tavern would stay open until midnight like the old days. 10 PM is a let down. The front desk staff is quite friendly and helpful.

Just stopped in. But it was beautiful inside.

Horrible experience. We were excited for our weekend getaway, but quickly became disappointed. The receptionist was rude and condescending. We asked about checking in because we had a scheduled spa time (which they gave us). Her facial expressions and the use of the words “not to sound pretentious” gave a horrible first impression. The bar/lounge was ok, but the cocktails were not good. The dinner menu was fair. The rooms were quaint, but cheaply maintained. Cords run under the middle of the thin carpet. The bed was very uncomfortable. Our spa experience was better. At least they were pleasant. I try to give a fair review and take into consideration that everyone is short staffed, but the staff that were there bordered on nasty. Needless to say, I definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Can't say anything about the rooms. We were there for a meal. The restaurant is good, the waitresses are very nice and friendly, and the food is always good.
