Super bummed because I would love to give them 5 stars. We had two beers and left because of the bartender - shorting the company out of more sales in food, beer and the merch we definitely would have bought.

Beer: Washington Street Wheat and Abolitionist Ale were great.

Atmosphere: Cool

Service: Not just bad, but rude. Sat at the bar, the three other couples already had been served, bartender sees us, but doesn’t acknowledge us, proceeds to go to the back, change a keg, side eyes us, goes to the back, brings out glasses. Finally comes over and asks “what do you want”. No futher service or interaction after giving us our beers. Had to ask twice for our check to be able to leave. No interaction as we pay.

Had a beer and a pizza at the bar. Both were great and the place had a friendly atmosphere.

Amazing pizzas though they are small

We have not been here in person. However, we’ve had their drinks when they were sold at Guide House in Knoxville, MD. Due to recent personal circumstances we’ve been ordering dinner via Door Dash. Abolitionist Ale Works has great personal pizzas, pretzels, and the Rancher sandwich. They are made fresh and delivered still hot.

What a fantastic place. We stumbled upon it by accident and are so glad we did. The wait staff was friendly, the brews were great, and the food was tasty. The location in the charming downtown made it even better. We will definitely be back.

For the first time ever, my husband and I ordered a beer flight and we are so glad we did. We got to try several beers we really liked, including the sour. We also ordered three different flatbreads and they were all delicious! I recommend the pickle one, for sure! The staff were polite and frequently checked in. We will definitely be back!

Great place for snacks, brew, pizza and artisan sandwiches. Friendly atmosphere. I wish they'd open for lunch - they could tap into a huge downtown market!

Beer was mediocre and I’ve never been to a brewery that wasn’t dog friendly even in outdoor seating area.

My family enjoyed dinner after the play. We ordered beer and wine. I had the chicken sandwich and the other had pizza. The food was very nice but the pizza could have been a little larger. They had some fun table games to pass the time. Planning on coming back on Wednesday for their beer specials.

Beer was great and the venue is nice.

Great pizza, awesome beer. I got the mountain and the craigs red ale. For pizza I had to figure & pig. Best pizza I've had in a long time.

This place has some of the best pizza and beer in town! I’m only giving 4 stars instead of 5 because, while they offer vegan cheese, the naan bread crust itself isn’t vegan—which was such a disappointment to learn. I used to eat their pizza regularly before going fully vegan (long before they even offered vegan cheese), so I know firsthand how amazing it is. I just wish I could enjoy it again with a fully vegan option!

For fellow vegans, just a heads-up: their naan bread isn’t vegan, so sandwiches aren’t an option. The vegan-friendly choices include their delicious beer, possibly the pretzel rods (be sure to ask about butter), and the carrots & hummus (just request no feta and no naan). If they ever update their vegan options, I’ll be thrilled to update my review!
