My husband and I travel at least once a year from Baltimore just to eat here. I can't see anyone giving this place anything less than a 5 star rating. From it's make yourself at home atmosphere to family frendly staff you can't get better then this. The food is truly home made no shortcuts here. At Christmas we make it a point to go the decorations are beautiful.

This is my favorite place to go. I have been going here for years. I have never not once had a bad experience here with the food or staff. Most of my special occasions like birthdays are here. I have introduced my family and friends to this place. Miss Peggy and Miss Sue are lovely ladies. I hope you try this place for yourself and not go on negative reviews. I will really miss this place when tge new road goes through. P.S. taking a new friend here this week before she leaves the country. I know she will love it.

Some folks don't do buffet style restaurant but this place isn't like others. They pay attention to every detail. Everything is homemade. Numerous types of homemade soups. Probably a dozen different deserts to choose from. Every employee is welcoming and pleasant. Only negative aspect is that they aren't closer to home. Well worth the trip.

Johns was one of the best local restaurants around, will surely miss them... My family went there for years. We had the best of times. So many of our friends met regularly there for lunch and dinner. They were and are always the best! Thank you for your years of wonderful service.

AMAZING FOOD at all times of the day. Extremely friendly staff. Bunch of antiques all around so it's like going to your grandmas house......but grandma always got the best food soooooo.

Very bad food. My chicken was all fat & no lean meat. My Husband's Hamburger wasn't done. His fries tasted reheated & not fresh. I would not recommend this place. I thought the Server said they would give me a discounted price. However, when we went to pay, it was full price. We will not go back.

Inside the restaurant it has a very odd scent. If you notice cleanliness (like i do) you can see by their exhaust system outside the building thre grease that's caked on, which makes me only imagine how clean the kitchen is. The food is ok. I tried their cream of crab soup once and ive definitely had better. When we went the first time, we got crab cakes. After that, I just got crab legs. Keep in mind all the meals we ate there were ok, but also happened before i saw all the grease on the building on the way from Berryville area. Haven't been there since. Anyhow, the inside its decorated with lots of different knick nacks. They did make an announcement a few years ago that they'll be closing due to the state expanding the road. They're still open at this point.

I go there often. Foods pretty good but had to ask for coffee 3 times. Shouldn't have to ask for coffee 3 times. Maybe they should go to self serve coffee?

I'm just neutral on the whole place- the service, the food, the atmosphere/decor, prices... Been here only twice (breakfast and dinner) and while I have no complaints, there's also nothing to rave about either. Service has been good (not horrible, not great) and the food has been good. (Again, not horrible but not great) I felt like our breakfast wasn't worth the price but I felt our dinner was... ♀️

I used to eat there quite a bit when I lived in the area over 10 years ago. It was consistently good over all. The steaks were amazing and it truly was home cooking. I stopped in on our way home from a bake a vacation trip on December 30th 2019.. My husband and I both ordered different cuts if steaks. They were both perfect in every way. However the sides were disappointing the sweet potatoes were so smothered with butter that was all you could taste. The green beans were straight out of a can. It was a Monday night there was hardly anyone in the restaurant The service was terrible, we only saw our server once or twice. The oldest person working looked like they were 18. Not sure what happened to this place. I was saddened and disappointed. I won't be recommending John's any time soon
